Chapter 12

         Anaya's POV

        "We better head back in before they start looking for us," Evan said softly and I nodded 

      As we headed back into the office everyone was looking at us.  

      "What is there something on my face?" I asked as I moved my hands to wipe my face.

      Everyone started to chuckle at me except Ace. The bitch looked like he was ready to kill someone. 

     "Ok everyone you can leave now except Ace and Ms. Malhotra" even says as he walks around to his desk. I guess this is his office.

       "Ok, now there is some tension between you two. You guys need to work it out otherwise it c
will affect the investigation, so you two need to solve that and you'll do it right now" Evan said as he got and grabbed a couple of files.

       

       "You guys can do so while in the meantime I'm going to do my job," he said as walks out and not forgetting to close the door behind him 

       It was just him and I in a silent room not saying anything for a while until he decided to speak up.

            

      "When did you find out you were pregnant with our baby," he said his voice barely comes out as a whisper 

           "A week after you left," I said quietly

     " and you kept her," he said as he looked up at me with a sad smile 

      "I did, it was the best decision I ever made. Giving her up was never an option, I knew right there and then I would try to give her the world by myself, that I would give her the love of both parents." I said with tears in my eyes as I looked at up him staring at me

      "I never wanted her to feel the absence of her father. I know it was going to be hard but I was willing to try anything for her. A couple of days ago some kids bullied her because she looked different from others. She was the only brown-skin girl with blue eyes in her class."

         

          "God she looks so much like you" I chuckled as I wiped my tears

        He just sat there and said nothing after what I just told him 

          "Was I not good enough Ace?" I whispered

     "Why did you leave me," I asked as another set of fresh tears start to fall 

       "What did I do wrong?" I asked

       "You won't understand naya," he said for the first time in a while

     "Then explain it to me please I deserve to know why I wasn't enough" I cried 

         "Did you mean what you said that day? Was I just an easy bait for you to have fun? You just used me you played with my feelings" I shouted I was full-on rage mode

        " I gave my everything to you in our relationship but you didn't care. You knew the whole time you were going to leave me." I cried. I couldn't stop the tears even if I wanted to.

       

         I needed him to feel what I felt during those days. I want him to feel what I went through all the hate, the slurs, the gossip. I want him to feel everything.

        "You broke me Ace you fucking broke me you never cared not even once in our relationship. All the " I love yous" were all bullshit" I shouted I didn't even care if anyone outside the office heard our conversation 

          I couldn't bare it anymore I fell to my knees "why Ace why" I cried

      "All I ever did was love you," I said quietly

     " Is it a fucking crime to love someone," I asked sobbing 

     

       "Fucking say something" I shouted at him

      He just stood there speechless watching me cry 

             "I'm sorry," he said as he walked out of the room leaving me alone crying.
