CW: mentions of death, gunshot injury

"So what's the new evidence we got?" Sakusa asks Kuroo as he sat in the passenger seat of the car, careful to keep his hands and arms from touching anything in the car. Kuroo kept his car fairly clean, the interior of his sleek grey Jeep Wrangler was pristine, as if he just bought the car.

"It was an anonymous tip concerning the limited info we have on the Black Jackals. A smaller organization they deal with, call themselves the Brass Bloods. I don't know the extent of their crimes, but I thought we should check it out before we have to hand it over to another unit." He relayed, looking over to see Sakusa taking in all the info. He finally nodded after a moment as Kuroo pulled up to a red light. But then after a moment, his eyebrows scrunched together.

"Why are we doing a rookie's job?" He questioned as the light changed to green. Kuroo chuckled.

"We're gonna do a quick look at it before we place our newbies on it. Calm down, man." He said laughing as Sakusa rolled his eyes. Kuroo pulled over, right around a mini convenience store. He reaches behind Sakusa to pull out a thin case file and hands it to him. Sakusa tugs on his gloves lightly before opening the file. The crime scene they had encountered two days ago was an armed robbery with three victims. All of them were gunned down, as well as the offenders having shot out all the security cameras. Kuroo tapped on Sakusa's shoulder before pointing at the near side of the small store.

"You see those double B's? They match the small ones that were written by the side of the register. They stake their claim in some businesses down here for an extra push of cash, exchanging protection from other gangs for a hefty sum of their revenue. Our source says that the store that was robbed was one of those businesses." He explained before placing some sunglasses on his face, the sunset blinding his eyesight.

"They do their pickups on Mondays, huh? Convenient." He muttered before looking up at the store again. Kuroo nodded before looking across the street, finding a remote location for recon. He hummed to himself before putting the car in reverse.

"I think I'll put Konoha and Kageyama on surveillance tonight. See what they find. In the meantime, what do you want to eat?" Kuroo asked playfully.

17:30 (5:30pm)

Kageyama scanned the case file intently, trying to see what else he can pick up that can be of use to the investigation. Kuroo had provided them with extra information on the Brass Bloods from Vice, as well as compiled a list of known associates. Konoha fiddled with the camera, deciphering what angles would work best to capture clear shots. His focus drifted to the newbie in the passenger seat, wondering what was going on inside his brain. He cleared his throat.

"So, Legacy Child. This is your first stakeout, right?" He asked. Kageyama huffed at the snide nickname coming from his superior, but that was the only reaction he was willing to give up.

"Yeah. And I just want to...uhm, clear things up. Just because I have family ties in the field doesn't mean I was just handed my spot...Sir." He stuttered, staring harder at the case file. Konoha laughed at the young man.

"The formal 'sir' is not necessary around me, kid. All jokes. I was gonna head inside there and get some snacks so we can get serious. Want anything?" He asked, grabbing his wallet from the driver's side door.

"I'm fine with anything. As long as I have some milk, I'll be fine." He said, gazing up at his partner. Konoha was speechless for a moment, before snickering to himself and nodding, opening the car door.

23:45 (11:45pm)

Kageyama and Konoha eyed the store intently. It closed no more than 15 minutes ago. Soon after, two men in grey jackets and black jeans walked up to the store front. Konoha began taking pictures, grateful for the bright street light in front of the store. The two men turned towards the car, giving Konoha the perfect opportunity to get pictures of their faces. Kageyama looked down at the file again, feeling a sense of deja vu. They looked familiar. The old shopkeeper opened the door, receiving an irritated shout from the men, before being shoved back inside the store to collect their cut.
