This is technically my second story... but it's also a rewrite of my first one. So as not to say this every chapter, I'm just gonna say the same thing as in the original one going forward. This is my "first" story ever so, please have mercy. I don't own Solo Leveling or any story mentioned in this fanfic.

And to everyone who hasn't read the light novel or isn't from the future, this story contains spoilers since it happens somewhat after the end of the story.

'It's been about... 27 years since I left. What would that be back on earth, like 2 years?'

A lone being stood at the border between his world and the endless emptiness between dimensions. A being that was initially an average human but had inherited the power of the king of the dead, becoming the Shadow Sovereign, and transcended its own design. That being is the man called Sung Jin-Woo.

Thinking to himself as he waited for the gateway to open. He looked through the transparent wall of reality and saw a big crowd beneath him, observing the giant gate he had created, floating above the city of Seul.

'Huh, this is the first time I'm seeing things from the inside of a gate.' He looked downward, wondering if the people below had come to greet him with a warm welcome for beating the monsters that terrorized his world.

But, putting little thought into the possibility of the scenario... probably not.

He placed his palm on the wall. When time rolled back 10 years into the past, he was greeted by his whole family, happy and alive, and even met some of his old friends from school he'd forgotten about after so long.

Spending quality time with his family, even though they haven't done anything major, was well worth it to him. He also went to internet cafes playing RTS games with his school friends, since those were popular at the time, and even brought a kid he didn't know very much about, that was always at the back of the class alone with no friends.

At first, the kid was confused about why Jin-Woo had invited him to join them, but he quickly joined the group and was accepted. Jin-Woo chose to help him since the guy seemed pretty lonely. He should probably check on him sometime.

After so long, being back in the past and spending time with the people he hadn't seen for so long in peace felt like a godsend to him. So Jin-Woo stayed for about 2 or so weeks procrastinating to relive a small part of his childhood before he left to fight the Sovereigns.

He had spent roughly 27 years fighting them, and in between the battles he spent his time writing in a notebook he had materialized, he started getting really good with magic, but more on the notebook.

He wrote about his experiences of his time in the gap between dimensions, initially, to pass the time between battles by doing something not to lose his sanity. Still, he also did it because of the unique circumstance of briefly reliving his childhood.

He developed a new habit of writing down what he sees and experiences on a given day.

He wanted to see how he'd feel after going through this notebook again. Would he be embarrassed about leaving behind written records? Would he regret it, think he could've done it better? Or maybe even miss this war, even though he's fed up with it now?

And a recent question he asked himself in the last few days. When is this annoyingly vague feeling like something invisible is poking him in the sides going to disappear?! It felt like an itch he couldn't scratch!

Those were his thoughts before he faced off with his greatest enemy, the king of berserk dragons and the Sovereign of Destruction, Antares. Well, excluding the last one.
