who am I

Who am I?
Am I a mere girl to the world?
Or among rocks, a shining pearl?
Am I a good daughter?
Or to the Lord, just running water?
Am I an artist out to paint the world?
Or a musician to whose rhythm everyone twirls?

Life's too short to get rid of the never-ending question marks
It is an unplanned journey on which we all must embark
The answer to "Who am I?" does not define us
Each word, action, feeling collects to build us up.

In the end, who am I?
Don't let the questions chain you down
The world will know in good time.
