Sun was starting to set in Beach City, as things seemed to slow down for the night. The ones who weren't slowing down were Steven, Shane, and Amethyst as they made their way towards town. Shane had to admit, he was thoroughly enjoying his time here in Beach City, and with the Crystal Gems.

Steven may be a bit naive and too optimistic, but he had such a friendly disposition and Shane couldn't help but find his softhearted personality to be infectious. He also admired his drive to prove himself to the Crystal Gems, as he couldn't help but see himself to prove how strong he was to his mother during their martial arts training together.

Amethyst was definitely the crazy younger sister of the Gems, as she had a carefree attitude, but with an aptitude for violence. She may have bad manners, can be lazy, and a bit disorganized, but she had a good heart and truly cared about Steven's wellbeing.

Pearl was a bit of a perfectionist, and can be stern when things are out of order, but she was definitely the most motherly out of all the Gems. She was definitely overprotective of Steven, always making sure he stayed safe and secure, which shows how much she really cares for him.

Spinel was definitely the fun one of the group, much like Amethyst, always up for having fun and wanting to play games, but definitely had a caring side to her. Unlike Amethyst, though, she does take her job seriously when the time calls for it.

Garnet was definitely an enigma to Shane, as it was hard to get a read on what she thinking and feeling. Her expressions almost never change, but deep down there was deep motherly care to her actions. She was definitely strong, as Shane noted, which was a given since she was the leader of the Crystal Gems.

"Come on, Shane, let's go!" Steven called out as he and Amethyst ran.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" Shane called out as he raced after them. They finally made it to the beach boardwalk and went up to Beach Citywalk Fries, right when the owner, Mr. Fryman, flipped the sign from open to close.

"Hey, Fryman, give me the bits!" Steven order while slamming his fists on the counter.

"Steven! We're closed." Fryman said to the kid.

"Well, looks like we're going to have to come back tomorrow." Shane said dismissively.

"Aww, what?" Steven said in dismay, but then Amethyst banged her fist on the counter.

"Give 'em the bits!" Amethyst ordered as she repeatedly slammed her fist on the counter. "The bits, the bits..."

"The bits! The bits! The bits!" Steven and Amethyst chanted as they pounded on the counter.

"Come on, you two, is that really necessary?" Shane lightly scolded.

"Okay, okay." Fryman lamented. "Take it easy on the counter, will ya."

"Yes!" Steven and Amethyst cheered as they high-fived.

"These better be the best fry bits in the world if you have to act like toddlers to get them." Shane said with his arms crossed.

"Oh, they are!" Steven said with stars in his eyes. "They're the tastiest, most delicious, most amazing fry bits in the world!"

Really? How many other places with fry bits have you tasted?" Shane asked curiously.

"Just this one." Steven said casually, causing Shane to deadpan at him.

Fryman dipped the fry bits in the frier, before he was finished and placed them in a bag. "I can give you actual fries, if you want?" Fryman noted with a smile.

"Just the bits, please." Steven said politely as Fryman passed him the bag. "Thanks."

The three of them left the fries restaurant as they started munching down on the fry bits. Shane took one and looked at it curiously before he popped it in his mouth, causing him to hum in satisfaction.
