"Hey baby, I brought you some food." Ayla said sitting the plate on her bed

"Your brothers are outside in the backyard.. you wanna go?" Ayla asked
"The only freedom I have." D'lani said rolling her eyes as she got up and walked out her room
Walking down the steps, Karter was coming up the steps. Before Karter could say something, Ayla spoke. " I said she can in the backyard.." Ayla said , Karter looked from D'lani to Ayla
" Get out my face." Karter said to D'lani as he continued to walk up the steps
" You can't be babying her all the time." Karter said to Ayla
" I know but she looked so sad Karter.." Ayla said with a frown on her face.
"Ask me if I give a fuck. Cause I dont, she doesn't need any freedom, whatsoever as of right now." Karter said

"Whatever." D'lani said getting up to go in the house
"Are you not embarrassed?" D'lani heard D'mir mumbled before she walked in the house
"Ma what you cooking?" D'lani asked sitting on the stool in front of the counter
"Food, you either eat or dont." Ayla responded and D'lani rolled her eyes
"How long do you think I'm on punishment for?" D'lani asked her mother
"I dont know lani. You shouldn't even be thinking about that."
"What you should be thinking about is getting your act together." Ayla said
"I'm getting old. Your father's getting old. You can't be having us running around like chickens with their head cut off all the time." Ayla said
"Ma- you not gon talk while I'm talking. D'lani I will punch you in your throat." Ayla threatened and D'lani frowned

"Good. Now come help me." Ayla said and D'lani got up
