I wake up to the winter morning cold, blue, and dim,
The trees are bare and plain, which makes them oh so grim.
Though the sky is full of snow, it still feels very dark,
I step out into the sea of white, but I dont even make a mark,
The trees must feel so cold and empty, I understand there pain
The squirrels must feel so lonely with there houses to maintain,
I wave hi to my neighbor, I guess he didn't see my hand,
It happens oh so often, so I guess I understand.
I walk back into my little home, I don't even notice the change,
I cuddle up to a fire, and grab my blankets to rearrange.
I watch the little sparks that the fire starts to create,
I sit there waiting for the next winter morning that slowly seals my fate.
