She was a 95 year old sufferer of dementia and was heavily guarded by nurses and her children. Her Husband, Lombard, Phillip Lombard, had died 7 years ago from complication from lung cancer. After he died her health went down horribly fast. Around her bedside was her orphaned granddaughter, Alouis, who was now 23, a nurse who's name was unknown and, her twin's family. This was it. This is where Vera finally met Phillip, she would get to ask Hugo for forgiveness.
But she saw none of this. She was surrounded by strangers. She took her last breath in front of strangers she didn't know. oh, she gasped, "Hugo".
"Hugo" was the last word she ever said.
