Finally home at last, "hah" Ainsley giggles, did I just say that out loud. I give a sheepish smile, I can't believe I called this home. "So u want to hav the broccoli and some bread" Ainsley asks, setting down the plastic bags full of food and water bottles. "Sounds good" I say, examining a long stick like object. Ainsley places the plates on the floor and looks at me. "Look" she says, she grabs the long object and plugs the wire into the wall. "Hair straightener," Ainsley smiles, "oh" I reply embarrassed. After a days rest we settle down to go to sleep for the night.

I'm awoken what seems like midnight, darkness still covering over everywhere. "Must be night" I mutter, but then again, when isn't it dark these days. Then I jump, where's Ainsley? I get up and walk around, the howling wind is about to burst my eardrums. "Ainsley" I yell, "Ainsley" I scream, "N-Niiiiia" I hear a breathless voice cry, "Ainsley" I cry as a appear by her side. Two glass panels flattened over her, she must have been going to the toilet. But this stupid strong wind, knocked the unsterdy shower panels down. "I-I don't know if I can lift them" I say unsure, I try lifting them but their just too heavy. I hear footsteps and men's calls from the door, "ah help" I sigh. "Nia" Ainsley says breathlessly, "thankyou for being so kind to me, even when I was so mean to you". Her eyes slowly close, "no Ainsley!" I scream, "you took care of us, don't think you were a bad person!".

I here the trap door creak open, the firemen are coming down. "They should have come earlier" I mutter angrily, I hold her and but it's really cold. Ice cold. "Hello young girl" one of the two men says, young? I'm 14 thankyou very much, "how old do you think I am" I say angrily. I'm in a bad mood with these firemen, for many reasons. "We're gonna take u to the safety area" they say before picking me up and carrying me to a room hardly full of people. "Where's everyone?"I ask worried, "Gone, passed" The gruff man mutters. What has New York become, I've lost everyone. This day couldn't possibly get any worse, I may as well die.
