Chapter 21

I screamed in pain as cut my hand with the glass piece. It wasn't long after that when the vampires busted through the door, and into the pool. They disintegrated so fast as the ashes of them swirled around me in a whirl pool. The sight was sickening, and my hand was still gushing blood. It was not long after the clever ones caught on and stayed out of the pool. But running near Mila and Allie was useless, once they got near they jut pushed them into the pool.
It was to easy.... way to easy. as the last ones sauntered through the door gracefully, I saw who they were protecting. Evil in ghoulish form, Mika.

"Well, the expendables aren't that big off a loss. I can just get new ones."

Her eyes glowing with a devilish smile that would have knocked me dead if looks could kill. I don't know how on Earth we can defeat this. I don't know how to begin the fight. I saw a blur run passed that got flicked into the pool with barley any effort from the cheer coach. Allie came up from the surface of the water with full werewolf. It scared me so much I fell back across the pool almost hitting my head on the nearby steps. I came up from the water and must have missed the part where Allie got knocked into the pool once more by the minions. She must have gotten a concussion from the forceful push because she wasn't moving in the water.

"Kyle, help her! She'll drown if you don't get her out!"

I saw the fear and distress within Mila's eyes as she was plastered up against the wall. I saw the floating werewolf, she looked peaceful and distant. Like I shouldn't bother her, so I only flipped her over so she didn't get any water in her lungs. I don't want her to die, but I couldn't do anything else. She was safer in the water anyways, this way the vampires couldn't touch her to mangle or torture her. She was safe and Mila had to understand that.
A scream came from the corner of the room and I jolted back once more, but kept my balance this time. It was Mila, the coach was strangling her in the corner. And I certainly couldn't let that happen.

"Hey coach!"

I yelled climbing out I the pool. She turned to look at me as I took my bloody hand and smeared the fresh blood all over my neck.

"Wanna play ball?"

She smiled and ran to me with super speed. Before I knew it, a fierce pain came over my neck and wrists. The other two servants of the dark were feasting on me as well. All I kept thinking was "Push me in the pool... push me in the pool... push me in the pool Mila quick... Mila please push me in the pool-"
With a great splash the water crumbled beneath me and I felt my head hit the bottom if the pool as my neck and wrists were relieved of the pain I felt in my vain. I didn't want to come up, I was to drained. I couldn't make it back up to the top of the pool. I stayed down there until I heard Mila's voice. She was in my head, she was pulling me up with her words. I was being dragged back to reality, and thank god I was. Mila was on the edge of the pool with Mika holding her neck so close to the water. I knew what I had to do, it was fight back to win, or die trying. For once that was a chance I was willing to take. I swam over to the steps and struggled to climb out. I nearly slipped on the tile but had to move quicker.

"Mika! Let her go!"

I screamed pulling the monster off of Mila, a gasp of air was heard before she punched me and screamed. The water I my hands must have burned her. Her skin was slowly regenerating back on to her bones.

"Bad move mortal..."

The eyes of my enemy seemed to be pitch black like her soul. She grabbed me by my fleshy wounded neck and raised me up to the sky.

"You should never mess with a queen. It's bad for your reputation, I mean, come on. I understand you have nothing on your resume currently, except for a pathetic wimp vampire for a girlfriend and... well that's really it? Isn't it?"

She tightened the grip on my esophagus to stop the air from going into my lungs. I could feel the power running through her fingers into me.

"Since you'll be dead in the next few minutes, let's make the last thing you see be the one you love so desperately turn to ashes in the water. Hope you enjoyed you useless life."

She turned her head for a moment to grab Mila, but she was gone. Suddenly, the floor came at my face in seconds and Mika gripped my neck harder as she went down too. Her hair was being dragged into the pool as all three of us fell into the watery grave. I opened my eyes underwater to see the twins holding each other down as the other tries to escape. I swim over and hold my bloody hand over Mika's mouth to distract her, and she bites me. My air is running out and I can't hold on anymore. I close my eyes and the biting stops. I feel anxious and alone. So I just let go. I was pulled up by something but I'm unsure of what. At this point, I don't care if I die. it might make more sense for me to. But I don't want Mika to win, we just spent our time trying to save the world. And Mila has been doing that her whole life. So I'm just going to let myself go, because I don't have any reason anymore to go-

"Kyle, come on. You can't give up on me now! We won. We won."

I couldn't speak, but I felt Mila by my side being there for me.
I'm here, but I won't be for long.

"No Kyle please. Don't leave me. Just open your eyes..."

I can't. I just can't. There's nothing for me to open my eyes for.

"But, I'm here."

Yes you are, but I couldn't live if I wanted to. I'm just going to...

Then everything went black. The last thing I felt, was a hand on my mouth, and a kiss on my forehead.
