When you feel your love's been taken...

The days rolled into each other, so much so that five minutes turned into five hours, five hours into ten, ten into twelve, twelve into a day, a day into two, and two into an entire week and from then on, who knows.

When you know there's something missing

Nothing. That's all they found in that time, if they still had time that is. Who knows where those two could be by now. In America, Europe, Asia.

In the dark, we're barely hanging on

He didn't want to admit it but he felt his hope starting to dwindle. It shouldn't take this long. It shouldn't and if it weren't for the blond being there, looking after him even though he shouldn't need to, he doesn't where he'd be right now. With everything.

Then you rest your head upon my chest

There was a small knock on the door. The brunet didn't bother answering but a voice still talked, muffled by the door.

"Hey, I'm going by the station again. Call me if you need anything, okay?"

And you feel like there ain't nothing left

Silence. That was the blond was met with, but he was used to it, got used to it from about 2 weeks ago.

I'm afraid that what we had is gone

Dean sighed and backed away from the door, going into the living room. He picked up Baby's keys and paused as he saw something sticking out from under one of the couch's cushions; he didn't remember putting that there.

He was half tempted to, but he shook his head and grabbed his jacket before leaving through the apartment door.

Then I think of the start
And it echoes a spark
And I remember the magic electricity

He arrived at the station, like he did every day, from earliest he could get to the latest times possible. He didn't stop to talk, only walked straight to his desk and set up for the another day of reports, filing, responding to the ever few calls that came in, patrol and when not doing that, searching; always searching.

A shadow loomed over his desk and he peered up to see Zachariah stood there.

"Don't worry kid, you'll find them"

The blond gave a small nod of appreciation before he went back to reading.

And I want this to pass
And I hope this won't last
Last too long

Then I look in my heart
There's a light in the dark
Still a flicker of hope that you first gave to me

Ellen closed up her office for the night and was about to leave but noticed someone still at their desk, with a single lamp on to contrast the darkness.

Her heels clacked against the floor as she waltzed up to the desk and leaned against the edge of it.

"Go home, son"

The blond blinked the tiredness out of his eyes before rubbing his face, trying to stay awake.

"Go home and take care of that friend of yours. You'll find your kid soon enough"

Dean looked at the woman quizzically.

"I'm getting old, not stupid, or blind for that matter" she stood back up and pointed at him.
