I walked the dark streets of the city. The sirens echoing behind me. The sound inching closer banging in my ear drums. I walked down the street as my dark silhouette leading me. The gravel below me shrilled as I walked hitting tiny pebbles with the tip of my sneaker. I stuffed my hand into the wool pockets of my sweatshirt to warm my what seemed to be soon frostbitten hands.I turned my head and looked back at the dark street being lit up by a few street lights. The sirens echoed louder. Red and blue lights lit up the block as a police cars drove down the street.I jerked my head around as I picked up my feet. Running down the middle of the street my feet hitting
the pavement harder each time. I stared back at the headlights of the car that now was right on my tail. I threw my head up inhaling the cold oxygen into my lungs. The further I ran the more I wished I could have just simply went back to the start.
Back 7 months.
When I had a girlfriend, when my parents didn't think of me as a juvenile
delinquent and when i simply had some dignity to show. I ran down another street.
I foolishly missed the "Dead End" sign at the beginning. I ran looking back at the
cops. I didn't want to live this life... I just stumbled and fell down again every time I tried to pick myself up... But now...I had literally come to a dead end.
"NO.. No no no!" I shouted frantically as I turned my head looking
around for an escape.
..But it was too late...
I turned around to find 4 police cars blocking alleyway.
Blaring headlights facing me. I squinted as my eyes adjusted to the light.
Six police officers stood in front of me. All of them holding up their
firearms that were pointed in my direction. I froze.
My heart dropped. My throat closed up as the my words died on my lips.
That night, the night i thought my life would end...
Little did i know it was just the beginning.
