The streets of London were filled with people as Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Wales married Polish footballer Robert Lewandowski at St Paul's Cathedral. Princess Alexandra wore an impressive white lace gown with a full skirt and cathedral length train, which she designed herself in collaboration with Polish designer Asia Wysoczynska, a native of Lewandowski's hometown Warsaw.

Mr Lewandowski was supported at the altar by Bayern Munich teammate Thomas Muller. Lewandowski wore a black morning suit with a grey waistcoat, and looked incredibly emotional as his bride walked down the aisle towards him. Princess Alexandra wore the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, familiar to millions as that worn by the Queen on stamps and banknotes.

They exchanged their vows in both English and Polish before they were declared husband and wife. They bowed and curtseyed to the Queen, as is traditional, and then left the Cathedral, exiting into the 1902 State Landau carriage. They processed back to Buckingham Palace, where they waved from the balcony and shared their first kiss as husband and wife.

They will honeymoon in Lewandowski's native Poland.
