Sweet silver blade, you fade these fears into nothing more than memory.
So just glide across my fragile skin, and make it glisten.
The blood calms the moment,
And falls like a volcano slowly erupting.
My mind takes a break, the cut tamed the beast.
I can't explain this feeling but I know I'm at ease.

Sweet silver blade how is it that you can see into my soul so clearly?
Can it be you know my deepest fears and weakest moments?
Or is it just that you know how sad my soul truly is.
I cover everything up,
So no one can see my scars.
I will not talk. I will not say anything on my mind.
As long as I'm here, my life will be a silent film,
And I will be the main actress.

Sweet silver blade, you have somehow taken over my entire life.
You speak to me, and tell me you're in control.
You let yourself redden my pale skin.
I feel pain.
I feel weak, weary and washed out like sand by the ocean.
I am drowning in my own sea of pain.
And only I can save myself now.

Sweet silver blade, I will not lose this battle between the two of us.
It's time to speak up, get help and face my fears.
These crimson strips tell a story, that I may not want to hide
It's one that I'm ready to fight.
The pathway is long; I may slip once or twice,
The darkness does not let its prey go so easily

But that doesn't mean that I'm lost to the sweet silver blade.
