"wake up" , i heard rick say as he shook me ,"y/n
there's walkers coming , we need to move , or we won't even make it back to alexandria" , he said sounding worried , i got up and gathered my stuff
rick rescued me from my father years ago , to as what my father used to call himself as 'the governor'.
i hated my father , he abused me whenever he got drunk , i still have scars .. rick saved me , all the abuse everything , it all went away when he rescued me from my father
as i finished gathering my stuff up , i followed behind rick
about 3 or 4 days ago we decided to go out scavenging and trying to find supplies for alexandria
we were on our way back but a horde of walkers had catched up to us
we found an abandoned building and decided to stay there for the night before we went back , plus a place to hide from the walkers
as i followed behind rick he looked back and grabbed my hand , "we have to get out of here , everything will be okay" he said as he gave my hand a squeeze before letting go of it
i nodded , "thank you rick" , i said , he just gave me a smile
i'm unsure about my feelings for him , he's way older than me for one , i don't think he'd ever see me in that way , and he also lost his wife not too long ago
i need to snap out of these thoughts .
so i did , and i put all my focus to getting back to alexandria
as we quietly walked out of the building , you could hear the walkers banging on the fence , the growling and moaning , what happened to this world
we walked for miles and miles , dehydrated , exhausted and hungry , as we finally reached the gates of alexandria
rosita and abraham were on watch duty , they opened the gates
i loved rosita , she was like a sister to me , she's been my best friend ever since we met in this shit of a place we call the new world .
i greeted her first , " i missed you" , rosita spoke as she hugged me , i hugged back harder "and i missed you, it's such a relief to be back", i said
"how was it , did you guys find anything useful ?" she asked finally letting go , " sort of ? we got chased by a horde on when we were on our way back , so that kind of ruined things but we still found some good medicine and some canned goods" , i answered
she took my hand in her's and gave it a squeeze , "i'm just glad you're back , you're safe and that's all that matters", she said , " you're right", i said while giving her a slight smile
after i greeted everyone else i went to my house , i took my clothes off and got in the shower , god this feels good , i said in my head while i felt the water wash away all the dirt and mud off my skin , finally feeling clean again
after the shower and me brushing my teeth , i got dressed and sat on the porch , feeling the slight breeze , it feels good to be back , i wasn't gone for that long but i missed my home
my thoughts got interrupted when i saw rick coming up my porch , he had shaved and it seems like he cut his hair too .. "wow", i said , he smiled " yea i know i know" he said whilst grinning , "you look nice" , i said , "thank you y/n , really thank you" he said , " it was just a compliment" , i said , " im saying thank you for coming out with me , you were really brave , and i know we didn't find much but it was nice having you there" he said looking at me , " it was nothing , i just enjoy your company rick" you said to him , " i enjoy yours too" , he said not breaking eye contact
" well ill let you rest , you need it" , he finally said breaking eye contact , " you get some rest too" you said getting up to hug him , you felt his arms wrap around you .. mind this , you two had never hugged before , at least not like this , you could smell the after shave , and his hair smelt like pine wood and man musk , you soon realize you've been hugging him for a little too long so you quickly let go , "goodnight rick" , "goodnight y/n" he says walking away ..
