Now I could say "from that day forward bakugo was happy and mentally fine"

But... no one recovers from things like this quickly.

Not even the strongest willed can turn 180° from suicidal to happy.

And even though deku was ready to forgive bakugo.

Bakugo wasn't ready to forgive himself...

The teachers although are now more wary of bakugo.

Because of how close he was to jumping, the teachers have been keeping a close eye on bakugo.

It been a few weeks since bakugo tried to end his life and everyone is getting ready for bakugo's birthday.

They've planned a huge celebration to make up for how they treated him.

And deku has a small surprise for his beloved, thanks to a little help from Aizawa.

{Bakugo pov}

I opened my eyes to the annoying ass sound of my alarm

I turn off my alarm and check the day.

Tuesday, April 20th.

I then hear a knock on my door.

Bakugo: whoever it is FUCK OFF!

I hear a faint sigh coming from outside my room door.

Izuku: now that's no way to talk to your soulmate, is it?

I quickly jump up, falling off my bed and scramble for the door.

I open the door to see deku smiling on the other side.

Bakugo: s-sorry, I-

Deku pressed his finger against my lip, silencing me.

Izuku: don't worry about it!

Huh? Did he just shush me, mid apology!?

Bakugo: o-okay...

Izuku: I have a surprise for you!

Deku has a huge smile plastered on his face.

What could this nerd be up to?

I follow him through the hallway and into his room.

On his bed is a couple different presents neatly wrapped in red wrapping paper.

Bakugo: what is all this for, is something special today?

Deku looks at me like I'm speaking jiberish.

Izuku: don't tell me you forgot!

I shrug my shoulders.

Izuku: IT'S YOU'RE BIRTHDAY SILLY!

Ohhhhhh!

Bakugo: fuck... you're right!

Izuku: how could you forget!?

Jee I don't know maybe because a couple weeks ago I thought I wouldn't be alive to see my birthday...

Bakugo: I mean it's not that important...

Deku hands me the first gift.

Izuku: It IS important!

I unwrapped the box and see the Teddy bear I found hidden under his bed a few weeks ago.

So it was for me, how cute.

Bakugo: thanks deku.

Izuku: don't thank me yet, I've got so much things planned for us to do today!

Bakugo: but we have school today?

Deku shakes his head.

Izuku: Aizawa said you can stay off school today as it's your birthday and also mainly because of well, you know...

The teachers are still wrapped up about that.

Bakugo: I really don't know why everyone is so worried now, I'm fine.

Deku looks down.

He opens his mouth as if to say something but hesitates.

Izuku: a-are you really though?

Damn you and you knowing me so well.

Izuku: I know you say you are but I-

Deku pauses to collect himself.

Izuku: I can't stop seeing you on the roof, kachan.

I quickly pull deku towards me and embrace him as he let's out silent tears.

Bakugo: What I did was a mistake, I shouldn't have gone up to the roof.

I pause.

Bakugo: I just though if I killed myself it would make up for what I said.

Deku looks up at me still teary.

Bakugo: but if anything really it was because I regret everything I did to you.

I cradled his face in my hand.

Bakugo: deku I love you, I will never try to kill myself again because that means I'll have to leave you.

I pause and breathe.

Bakugo: I don't want to leave I just want you to be happy, so I'll stay as long as you want me to.

Deku tilts his head and looks at me confused.

Bakugo: the point is I'm here with you till the end.

Deku presses his head on my chest and I quickly embrace him back.

Izuku: I love you.

I smile faintly.

But why do you love me? I thought to myself.

Bakugo: I love you too.
