Faith sat staring absently into the dark woods infront of her while she tried to rub some warmth into her arms. She sighed when she heard the door behind her open, knowing immediately who had come out.

"What are you doing out here?" Angel said as he looked down at Faith with an amused smile.

Faith shrugged "I thought I'd keep first watch."

"Yeah we don't have to do that. Lorne worked that protection spell, we should be good for about 12 hours. And Faith?" Angel pointed to himself.

"Vampire. Remember, we're not big on sleeping."

Faith looked up at Angel and rolled her eyes "Not sure why you're settling down then. If I didn't have to sleep my karma demon kills would be twice what it is. I'd be so much closer to those pearly gates when something eventually kills me." Faith teased.

Angel laughed, Faith spoke with bravado but he knew inside she was just like him. Unsure of most things.

Angel resolved.

"Bed. Now. You're in with Fred. And Cordy. So...good luck."

"Oh my first official sleepover? I bet Queen C's real happy about that." Faith said dryly.

"Just give her time." Angel said as Faith followed him inside.

Fred entered the room brightly and Faith followed cautiously with three pillows in her arms.

Cordy finished fixing the sheet of the king bed and turned to look at the pair entering the room. Her gaze rested squarely on Faith.

"Oh whose bright idea was it for you to sleep in here?"

Faith said nothing but Fred took the pillows from her arms and arranged them carefully on the bed.

"It just kind of worked out that way but I think it's because it's going to be a great opportunity for us to bond a bit, out of everyone we've kind of spent the least time with Faith but..now we're roomies for a while that will change."

Fred smiled and Faith interjected "I think it's just because we have the same parts and everything".

"Also true" Fred said shyly.

"Whatever" Cordy said relaxing a little as she got into her side of the bed and put her cat sleeping mask over her eyes.

"I guess I'll be in the middle then" Fred declared as she shuffled into the middle of the bed.

Faith climbed in next to Fred and rested her head back against the pillow and closed her eyes.

Fred turned to Faith after a few minutes and spoke softly "So what's it like being a slayer and all? I can handle myself with most weapons but I've always been more the brains of the operation."

"Having super strength makes fighting a lot easier" Faith said truthfully.

"I imagine it makes going off the rails a lot easier too" Cordy quipped into the dark room.

The girls listened as they heard heavy footsteps outside their room. They guessed that it was Angel pacing up and down. Well into the night they heard lighter, sneakier steps and assumed it was Connor. Maybe those two would finally have a true heart to heart conversation.
