a child born nearly two thousand years ago , the offspring of the king and queen of the underworld . hades and persephone loved their daughter dearly , but . . . they weren ' t exactly the perfect family . khalida was one of the younger gods , and most considered her a child even when she got older . even her parents continued to treat her as a child .
when she was eighteen , her domain as a goddess was revealed . flowers , immortality , and painful death . quiet an odd combination , but she didn ' t get to pick it . upon the revelation , her parents told her to never tell anyone of her being the deity of immortality . they knew how the gods could be , they might feel threatened by it . she could bend immortality to her will , take it away or give it . they knew the others might not like it .
for years , she complied . went about her regular duties . being the goddess of flowers didn ' t entail much , she really had to do nothing for it . the goddess of painful death was a bit harder . but even that , she didn ' t have much trouble with . just go , collect the souls of those who died in pain , and deliver them to charon .
but the goddess of immortality . she never told anyone , never spoke of it . the only people who knew were her parents . she stayed in the underworld with them for a long time , never questioning anything . the only time she ever left was to retrieve the souls . but then she did start to question things , and her parents didn ' t like that .
she wanted to leave the underworld , go and live her own life , not have to hide in the palace of the underworld . persephone partially understood that , wanting to go and live her life . she had done the same thing when she met hades . but this was her daughter , it didn ' t matter . she had to keep her safe . hades , however , absolutely did not like it . he told her no , she was still a child . she wasn ' t ready to go off on her own .
it was weeks and weeks of fighting , arguing at every moment over it . finally , khalida just left . one night , she left without saying anything to either of them . she was nearly five hundred years old , she wasn ' t a child anymore .
she travelled the world for a few years , just seeing things . she still continued her job , still delivered the souls . but she didn ' t return to the underworld .
as time went on , she started to settle down in different places . she would stay in one place for about twenty or so years before moving on . she ' s stayed in paris , moscow , athens , santorini , new york , california , australia , tokyo , and several others . currently , she resides in new york . she will go back to the same places sometimes , if it ' s been a hundred years or so . she owns several properties across the world in those places .
she started to do more than just her job as a goddess . she went to college , did different mundane jobs . she owns several bars and clubs , she has positions on the board of several large companies , owns a few companies herself including a technologies company , a medical company supplies company , law firm , and a few others . she even owns three hospitals . all are headed by one umbrella company , pomegranate industries . she ' s a very busy person , but hey . she has all the time in the world .
she has stayed in the public eye for quiet some time , but people aren ' t very observant . no one has seemed to notice that the same person funding some political candidate a hundred years ago is the same one on the cover of vogue now . no one has connected the strings , and she isn ' t very worried about them .
she still has yet to ever return to the underworld . her parents will come after her , send people after her . but she refuses to go back . she has a life , a life she loves . she isn ' t giving it up .
