"what's this?" sawamura held up a small box, it's made up of crystal and had a weird looking symbol in the center

"in case something goes horribly wrong then destroy that and it will immediately send a signal to the guild" kuramochi replied

"yes but why? miyuki's just taking me out to train" the brunette asked but stuffed the item in his pocket anyways

the green haired male sighed "trust me, unless you're not human then you're definetely gonna need that"

is miyuki THAT bad??

"i know what you're thinking, and yes he actually is" ryousuke said "his previous partners have all quit on him so he's been going on missions solo for a good two years now"

sawamura started to reevaluate his life choices now, but it can't be that bad right? miyuki seemed like a nice guy

"if i recall, his most recent partner came back with a broken arm on their first training session" tetsu joined in

"oi oi with all due respect please don't scare him" miyuki snickered, finally arriving after being 8 minutes late "don't listen to them, they exaggerate"

somehow...he has no trust in miyuki whatsoever, prayers have been offered to the beings above.

miyuki put his arm over his shoulders and began guiding the poor boy out the guild doors, sawamura didn't even try to resist and decided to follow, upon arriving at the main roads of the city the weight on his shoulders was lifted and miyuki stood still

"miyuki?" sawamura asked

"hey sawamura" he started "how fast would you say you are?"

the younger male tilted his head slightly "uh pretty fast i guess? why?"

his answer gained a smirk from miyuki "let's test that out then"

before he could react miyuki was already at a good few meters away from him, dashing through the crowds at unbelieveable speed, it was as if he was swimming ever so gracefully in a stream

he stared for a while, breaking out of his trance when he realized he was supposed to chase him

"there they go" ryousuke said

"that miyuki never learns, can't tell if he wants a patner or not" isashiki commented

kuramochi sighed "if he drives this one away we seriously need to make the guild master assign him a partner"

"agreed, if he wants a partner that badly why not just settle?" kawakami said

"this is miyuki we're talking about, nothing less than the best for his giant ego" the green haired male said

everyone agreed, they knew miyuki well enough to even know what shampoo he prefers, it may sound creepy but it is the truth.

"well let's just hope sawamura makes it back safely and hopefully not traumatized" chris sighed

sawamura wiped the bead of sweat trickling down his face, he's been tracking miyuki through the forest, it's been an hour of running and chasing, he wonders what miyuki had in store for him, something like this won't bring him down!

as if con cue, miyuki halted

and so did he, huffing and wiping down his face

"good job, you managed to keep up" miyuki grinned at him "you ready?"

"ready for what?" sawamura asked

miyuki snickered "why clear this entire nest of magma ants of course!"

wait-

looking at his surroundings he realized they were both in the nest of the magma ants, they're creatures of the forest who usually stay underground and only comes up to relieve some of the heat pressure building up in their body, they can grow to the size of humans even!

"they've been blocking the way for merchants so i took the quest to kill them" miyuki laughed

that little...

has he mentioned these things were insanely territorial? yeah they are extremely territorial

and since the two of them invaded their nest...

sawamura paled when he heard crawling on the hard rock grounds, you can already tell there was gonna be a lot of them

"alright, you ready?" miyuki asked

"not like i have much of a choice now do i?" sawamura groaned, activating his gauntlets as he took his position

"think we can finish this in less than 7 minutes?" miyuki smirked

the brunette rolled his eyes at the question "let's just get this over with"

miyuki would have liked to laugh out loud right then and there but he decided to save that for another time, sawamura dashed first, crushing and blowing them away one by one

he followed behind covering sawamura's back while he bulldozes through the group, miyuki smirked "not bad, we should be in the clear soon" he said

sawamura felt his left brow twitch, this jerk was enjoying this!!

although he did learn something about miyuki, when the jerk says 'soon' it's not.

they've been at it for longer than he had hoped for and he could feel the fatigue and exhaustion catching up to him, speaking of which miyuki was still going at it at record pace, this guy's a damn monster

"hm? what's wrong? you're slowing down" miyuki snickered

he's gonna kill this bastard

"i'm fine!! how much more?!" sawamura yelled back

"they should be starting to retreat, if not we may have to find the queen" miyuki said

"you can't be serious right now!!" the brunette yelled as he took down another

miyuki just laughed "it sounds like fun don't ya think?"

sawamura has so many regrets right now, he should've stayed home at Nagano

he's so close to using the crystal but for the sake of his pride he decided not to, he is NOT about to ask for help just because he was tired and especially not because of miyuki kazuya!!

miyuki never expected such a thing, out of the corner of his eye he saw a flicker of light, next thing he knew sawamura was falling to the ground

that was not the unexpected thing, it was the giant crater surrounding the boy

well

atleast it got the job done?

he rushed over to the fallen boy, he looks like he's just asleep

but then he realized something

sawamura was abnormally cold, too cold for comfort.

miyuki didn't know what to do, he's never seen something like this before, sawamura was breathing normally but his heartbeat was slow, his body was freezing cold

and so he did the only thing he deemed fit to do, breaking the crystal and carrying the boy on his back he quickly headed back to the guild hall.

note:

so i decided to cut up the chapter, since there was supposed to be around 6k words here but i wasn't comfortable with the number of timeskips there were so i made the decision to cut them into different chapters so i hope you don't mind :)
