War of Hearts

chapter 1

August 12th 1914
Tuesday 7:20am

Edwin: * he opens his eyes slightly and grabbed his glasses from the side of the bed he puts them on and gets out of bed and gets dressed and walks in the kitchen and makes some toast he then checked his watch and realised the time and noticed that he was late for work he ate his toast and got his shoes on and coat and ran out the house * I'm so screwed if I'm late....

Adrian: * he was walking down the pathway and seen Edwin running * is everything alright there Edwin?

Edwin: * he slows down and stops running he then took a breather * adrian?

Adrian: * he walks over to him * you okay?....

Edwin: yeah just late for work again for the third time this week....

Adrian: oh right....

Edwin: I got to run but are you going to meet up with the guys later?

Adrian: yeah most likely what about you?

Edwin: I cant I got a book to write remember....

Adrian: oh yeah well good luck to you

Edwin: thanks cya later....* he then continued to run and got to the school just in time before the gates closed he walks in his science classroom and noticed his students waiting inside the classroom he sits in his seat * I'm sorry for being late again

Student: it's okay sir and besides you were only 5 minutes late

Edwin: it's still not right for a teacher like me to be late but enough chit chat today we will be learning about time and space so I would like you to open your books and turn to page 178 * 5 hours later he finished teaching and walked back home and after 26 minutes he arrived home and opened the door and closed it and just layed on the sofa *

Adrian: * he knocks on the door *

Edwin: *he gets up and opens the door* hey adrian aren't you supposed to be hanging out with the guys?

Adrian: nah I thought it would be boring besides I came here to give you company like what friends should do when they've been over working themselves

Edwin: I'm not over working myself adrian....

Adrian: if you say so Eddie

Edwin:....what have I said about you calling me that.....

Adrian: I know but it's funny when I call you that though

Edwin: it is for you but to me its not funny....

Adrian: oh stop being a buzz kill so am I allowed in the house?

Edwin: so long as you dont call me Eddie

Adrian: I promise

Edwin: *he let's adrian in the house and when adrian was in the house he closed the door and went in the kitchen* so do you want tea or coffee?

Adrian: * he sat down on the sofa * coffee

Edwin: strong or weak?

Adrian: strong

Edwin: coming right up * he makes the coffee *

Adrian: thank you Eddi- I mean Edwin

Edwin:.....* he carries on making the coffee and the coffee was made he walked to the living room and gave the coffee to adrian * here you go

Adrian: thank you * he picks the coffee up and drank a little * so where's this book you've been working on?

Edwin: oh right I forgot about that book I'll go get it now * he goes in his bedroom and opens a cupboard were the book is he picks it up and walks in the living room and sat next to adrian and gave him the book*
now I want your honest opinion here so if you see anything wrong tell me and I'll fix it right away

Adrian: okay then * he opens up the book and he reads it * hmmm....
* he reads it more and then finished reading it * well I think it's very very impressive but it's missing one thing

Edwin: what is it?

Adrian: I think it should have a bit of romance in it

Edwin: adrian be serious here....

Adrian: I am being serious here I think it should have a bit of romance in it

Edwin: I'll think about it adrian

Adrian: well atleast your thinking about it but other then that theres no mistakes and theres certainly no spelling mistakes and I think it's just perfect

Edwin: thanks adrian that means alot

Adrian: no problem

Edwin: so what should we do now?

Adrian: I'm not sure maybe we can bake something?

Edwin: I'll go get the cook book * he had a small sweet smile on his face he then got up and walks to the kitchen and grabs the baking book *

Adrian: * in his mind: I knew that was the right choice and seeing him happy is just the highlight of my day *
* he gets up and walks to the kitchen *

Edwin: so what are we baking? * he smiles happily *

Adrian: how about we bake scones

Edwin: oooo that sounds lovely * he smiles happily and grabs the ingredients but he couldn't reach one of the main ingredients so adrian grabbed the ingredient and put it with the other ingredients after that they start making the scones and Edwin had a bit of dough on his nose but adrian gently rubbed it off they both look at eachother for a good 20 seconds but adrian slipped because hes extremely clumsy when it comes to baking and cooking but he slipped and landed on top of Edwin after 30 seconds they both laugh and after 20 minutes they made the scones Edwin Put them in the oven and sat on the counter * well that was fun

Adrian: it most certainly was

Edwin: * he smiles happily and after 14 minutes the scones were ready Edwin put them on the kitchen table and sat down on a chair and ate one scone at a time and adrian did the same * you know what would've made these scones better-

Adrian: homemade jam and a bit of brown sugar

Edwin: exactly

Adrian: anyway I got this opportunity to work as a guitarist in a band and if I do well on the first try I get the part

Edwin: that's wonderful news adrian and I have no doubt that you'll kill it

Adrian: thanks this opportunity means alot

Edwin: I know you've always wanted to be in a band every since you were a adorable little kid

Adrian: you think I was the adorable one when clearly you were probably the most cutest and most adorable kid in that school

Edwin: nah I was probably the most weirdest one there since I didnt have a mum or dad * he looks down at the table *.....

Adrian: hey you are not weird and so what if you didnt have a mum or a dad atleast you have friends that will stick by you no matter what happens and besides to me you were very cute when you were a kid

Edwin: * he looks at adrian and sighs * well I appreciate you trying to make me feel better but I dont think it will work...

Adrian: what if I play you a song on the guitar will that cheer you up?

Edwin: maybe...

Adrian: can I borrow the guitar I gave you for your birthday?

Edwin: ofcourse let me go get it * he goes in the bedroom and grabs the guitar from underneath the bed he holds it and sees that adrian is in the living room sitting down on the sofa Edwin gave adrian the guitar he sits next to adrian and leans his head on his shoulder *

Adrian: * in his mind: I hope this will cheer him up * * he does a soft guitar tune and after 13 minutes of playing soft tunes on the guitar he noticed that Edwin is fast asleep soundly and peacefully he put the guitar down gently and he then picks Edwin up softly and gently in his arms and carried him to the bed he placed Edwin on the bed he put his glasses by the side of the bed and puts the blanket over him he then left the house and he closes the door behind him he then walks back to his own house *
