Merciful

My Lord is so Merciful
And though we cry when anxious,
Tears for Him make me peaceful

My Lord is so Merciful
That He hates for me the sin that I commit
But does so without hating me who sinned

My Lord is so Merciful
That He wraps me in His mercy
And when I repent, He welcomes me in His sanctuary

My Lord is so Merciful
That He does not disown me after I transgress
Instead, He calls me 'His' servant who transgressed

My Lord is so Merciful
That when I pray, He is shy to send me away empty-handed
And when I remember Him, He remembers me

My Lord is so Merciful
That He comes to me running
If I go to Him walking

My Lord is so Merciful
That when He keeps from me the fulfilment of my prayers
It is so that He collects and multiplies them to a mountain of bounty

My Lord is so Merciful
That He asks us what exactly has deceived us from our Lord,
He asks us which of the favours of His would we deny

My Lord is so Merciful
That He sent Prophet Muhammad
(salAllahu alayhi wasallam)
Who is the mercy of the two worlds

My Lord is so Merciful
That He gave me the titles of 'Ummati' and 'Abdi'
So that I know that even if the world disowns me, I have somewhere I belong

My Lord is so Merciful
That He becomes partial to me
Even when I become partial to the world

O, the most Merciful,
How do I repay You?
For even if You teach me all of the words in all of the languages and sum them up,
I wouldn't still be able to do justice to Your Hamd (appreciation)

O, the most Merciful,
My return is towards You
So make me a residue
Of faith and virtue
Allow me to be loyal to You
So that I can return to You
In greetings and salutes
And be amongst those
Who truly belong to You
And who You truly love

"When the sky splits open,

and when the stars fall away,

and when the seas burst forth

and when the graves spill out,

˹then˺ each soul will know what it has sent forth or left behind

O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,

moulding you in whatever form He willed?

But no! In fact, you deny the ˹final˺ Judgment

while you are certainly observed by vigilant,

honourable angels, recording ˹everything˺.

They know whatever you do.

Indeed, the virtuous will be in bliss,

and the wicked will be in Hell,

burning in it on Judgment Day,

and they will have no escape from it.

What will make you realize what Judgment Day is?

Again, what will make you realize what Judgment Day is?

˹It is˺ the Day no soul will be of ˹any˺ benefit to another whatsoever, for all authority on that Day belongs to Allah ˹entirely˺."

[Surah Infitaar 82:1-19]
