Emma had returned some time while I was still asleep in the library. When I awoke Ray was missing and I searched around for him to find Emma back. "And you,were you able to remake the promise?" Ray asks looking at the girl beside him"yep! We did it." She exclaims turning to the others with a smile. Ray seemed to had noticed my presence beside him,he looked over at me "sorry for leaving you." I shake my head"it's quite alright. How'd you sleep?" He nods"it was good for once. I didn't have any nightmares." I smile"that's great!"
"Everyone will be able to leave to the human world without any death or demons following us!" Rossi then spoke up"hm? For real?" She nods as the room erupted in cheers. "What about the price?" Ray asks looking to Emma as she walked out of room with us following behind her. "Oh that? Don't worry about it." She smiles"I'll explain it later." My eyes narrowed slightly"she's hiding something." I say to Ray as he continued to talk"well ok. But I want every last detail when we have time." She nods"however though,we have to leave now. Thoma and Lani found out something terrible. Norman,his plan isn't to simply kill the royals and the court. He wants to exterminate every single demon in the capital." Emma's eyes go wide"I knew Norman was untrustworthy." I growl as Ray looks to me,like he was telling me to calm down.
"We have to act before Norman kills the nobles. I mean we have to stop the genocide of the townspeople as well. But if the queen and nobles die,it's all over. Their whole social system will implode. We'll have no one to negotiate with." Ray tells Emma. "What does that mean?" A kid asks"it means that if they die then the war is unpreventable." I explain"we have until the Tifari Ceremony,when all the nobles are gathered at the capital. That guy will never miss a chance...Norman's priority is probably to exterminate the demons' leadership-to kill all nobles and the queen. Whatever happens,we have to get there in time to stop Norman from doing that."
"How long does it take to get there?!" Emma exclaims"about five days." "But what if we ignored the risks and took the shortest paths?" "Three days. At our pace,we can make it." Anna then speaks up"I'm sorry but it's already the afternoon time. So wouldn't you only have two and half days until the ceremony?"
"Even if we give it our all,there's no time!"
"Won't we reach them in the middle of battle? Isn't that awful?"
Yvette then runs into the room"Ray! Emma! Y/N! Look what we got!" Then Oliver,Nigel,Zack and Gillian were seen on horses. "Get on!"
Oliver gets behind Emma,Ray behind Zack while I get behind Gillian. "You all can ride horses?!" Emma exclaims"did you think that we would do nothing while you were at 'The Seven Walls'?" Nigel asks"it's not like we became experts or anything!" Gillian exclaims"but are you really ok with this Gillian? You said you opposed the idea to help the demons." Emma states glancing at the blonde"that's right,I'd still kill them no doubt. I'll kill any enemy that threatens my friends and family. But I want to help Y/N,and you,Emma. As well as I want to save Norman."
"Aw Gillian had a change of heart." I purr as she nods"I guess so..."
"Alright enough talking! Let's get this babies flying!" Oliver yells"now us four,plus our horse friends,will bring you post haste to the capital!"
Time skip to when they arrive at the capital
Once we arrived at the capital,I was given a long dark blue cloth to hide my identity of being a human. Though Emma and Ray on the other hand had the full set,the demon masks and cloth. A hid behind one of the buildings as cheers from the streets were heard. "The festival has already started." Emma comments"we ended up cutting it way closer than planned." Ray admits"I wonder if Oliver's group is ok." Emma hums"all we can do is believe in them." Emma nods"Norman is mostly likely at the Tifari assembly hall-inside that castle."
"We need to hurry."
That's when a loud explosion was heard down the street and a scream. Another explosion went off a few feet away from us,the blast ended up knocking us back a little. "Sh*t! It's already started!" I yell staring at the destroyed buildings and crying demons. "Emma,Ray,Y/N?!" We turned to see Don and Gilda also covered up in long cloth. "Don,Gilda?!" Emma exclaims as Don and Gilda jump onto us,giving us a tight hug. "You're back!" Gilda explains"you three made it back safely!" Don says afterwards. Don and Gilda release us as Emma spots Hayato with them and another girl. Apparently her name was Ayshe. That's when Sonju and Mujika appeared. "They're back!" I exclaim with a smile"Sonju! Mujika!"
Emma didn't say anything.
"Emma?" I asked look for the girl who had watery green eyes. Mujika walked up to her and engulfed her in a hug"it's ok. Thank you for all the sake of us demons..."Mujika softly says to her"I'm so glad you're ok..." "I'm glad you are to." Emma then pulls away"we're absolutely going to stop Norman!"
"Hey Emma,by the fact that you three are back does that mean-"Don gets cut off by Emma"yes,we forged a promise with __." The two cheer"but the promise is being held on hold for right now." Gilda smiles"just as planned!" Don speaks up"what about Oliver's group? They said they'd escort you guys with horses but did they go back?" Emma explained what had happened to them"we arrived not to long ago,we need to hurry though." "This works just fine since we were able to meet up with you two. But there is one more cause of concern." Ray admits showing the two of them the letter. "This is the recipe for a 'person' that Norman made. Norman is probably planning on using it on those in the castle and even those outside of it. So the first thing he's planning on doing is wiping out those in the demons castle. Nothing has happened yet,but knowing Norman he already has it all set up. If something happens before we make it back,I want to mitigate the damage as much as possible. And now that Sonju and Mujika are here,that becomes even more possible...probably."
"All of our lives should be our top priority. If things start to look dangerous,escape right away." Emma demands"Emma,take out your hand." Sonju instructs as Sonju places a small grey cylinder in her hand. "What is this?" "It's a transmitter. I took it from him and his comrades." Sonju says pointing to Hayato. "Once you get inside the castle,call us with that if you need help. We'll come running right away."
"If you push it,it makes a sound and we'll know your current location."
"If anything happens I'll notify you with Morse code."
"Leave the outside of the castle to us." Mujika states"but if you guys are in trouble,say something."
"Thanks! We'll be heading off then!" Emma exclaims as we rush down the streets and into the war zone.
