I folded the letter and put it in my pocket. The walk seemed so long and my thoughts kept racing.

"Would anyone care if I disappeared"

"I feel so alone, empty, numb."

The whole world felt eerie, I felt dazed and heavy. Breathing was beginning to feel like a chore, and thinking a burden. I stopped.

"No-" and then I heard a thud.

I ran as fast as my weary legs would take me, to a tree not so far away. There lay a boy, who looked about my age, in a blue striped shirt and khakis.

"ARE YOU OK??" I yelled concerned. The boy just groaned. Im a very weak person, and tired, weighed down by life, but I scooped him up and ran until I found a house.

"Why- ho-how did you fall, or did you let go, I- what.. happened?" I stuttered in fear.

"The br-ranch snapped, and I didn't have time to m..move." The boy stumbled over his words.

"What were you doing in the tree? And can I ask what you name is?"

"Uhm.. uh, well my name is E-van, and I, I d..don't know." Evan stuttered. I knew something was up, why would he just be in a tree, that high in a tree.

     "What's.. your name?" Evan asked

"Y/N," I replied. "Nice to meet you."
