Glimpse of Ocean Feels

Kabanata 5

I covered my mouth, biting my trembling lips not to create a single sound. Kahit medyo inexpect ko na, mahirap pa rin talagang tanggapin, masakit tanggapin.

"Then, what are your plans now? You'll not just give up, will you?" ani ni Yuan pagkaraan ng ilang sandali.

"Of course, I'll do fucking everything just to finish this mission." Zai's cold hard voice startled me.

"If I need to go back and forth to that damn house just to find what we need, I definitely will." nahihimigan pa rin ang tapang at lamig sa boses niya. He seems a different person now.

Tulala ako ng makarating ako sa kwarto. I don't know how to process everything I've heard from them. Si dad, mom...at ang sinasabing mission nila.

Dumagdag din sa isipin ko ang pag-iiba ng kilos ni Zaint. Knowing my Dad, hindi na ako magtatakang malamang may mga kaaway siya...lalo na sa usaping politika.

Nakakapagtaka lang na sa ugaling pinakita at sa trato ni Zaint sakin, he seems jolly and a kind person, but seeing him now...he looks dangerous.

Suddenly, Zai's voice echoed in my ears. "If I need to go back and forth to that damn house just to find what we need, I definitely will."

Something hit me and my head caught an idea. Kung hindi ko kayang makapasok sa bahay, then he can! He said he will do everything to get what they need and of course, kailangan niyang bumalik sa bahay para makuha iyon!

Nababakas ko rin sa kanya ang pag-aalala sa aking mommy kanina kahit na hindi niya ito kilala. All I need to do is to be friends with them, especially with Zaint. If I can be closer to him, then I can ask him to help me or at least he can do something to  freed my Mom.

He's my only hope!

Tama! You need to do it for the sake of your mother, Maddy!

Whatever their mission, mabuti man o masama, wala na akong pakialam. It is a win and win situation for the both of us and it is the best solution I have ever had.

Nakatulugan ko ang pag-iisip sa aking plano. I wake up with a heavy heart. It was already 6 in the morning when I'm done, readying myself to leave.

Gising na kaya sila? Kakatok na sana ako sa pinto ng kwarto nila upang magpaalam nang makarinig ng ingay sa labas. Naabutan ko si Yuan na naglilinis ng auto.

"Oh, tamang-tama, ready na tong sasakyan, maaga ka pa diba?" I look confused, staring at him.

"P-Pano...iyo to?" he chuckled at my innocence. "Hop in, ihahatid na kita sa inyo." he said.

I blinked, hindi pa rin makapaniwala. "Come on Maddy." he uttered while mentioning his auto.

When I finally compose my self, I shook my head and said, "Wag na! Nakakahiya naman. Dito na nga ako natulog tapos..." pahina ng pahinang ani ko dahil sa hiyang nararamdaman.

"You don't want to see me breathless, do you?" he said, making me speechless. My forehead creased, confused of what he said.

Natawa siya at hinila na ako papasok sa sasakyan. "Yari ako kay Zai pag hindi kita naihatid, kamahalaan." he muttered.

My lips parted. Muntik pang madapa dahil sa narinig. I felt again that unknown emotion ever since I met him. Concern siya sakin?

"Speaking of, nasaan nga pala siya? Tulog pa?" I asked when I get in. Suddenly, I feel guilty. Napuyat siya dahil sakin tapos ginamit ko pa yung kwarto niya. I don't even know kung saan siya natulog kaya sobrang inis ang nararamdaman ko para sa sarili ko.

After I heard them last night, nagkulong na ako sa kwarto, ni hindi na ako lumabas. I remembered hearing him knocking in the door but I did not even bother to open it.
