I run out of the Hebe cabin and to the Hephaestus cabin.

"Where have you been all day?" Harley asks.

"Helping out a new girl. How's the Argo ll coming along?"

"Pretty well. We're still behind schedule and we need you help in the engine room."

I sigh, "I'll do it now."

"But what about dinner?" Harley protests.

"I'll be fine!" I call back.

I leave camp and head into the woods. After a bit, I got to Bunker 9. I opened it and there sat the Argo ll in all it's glory. I immediately feel my muscles relax.

Festus whirs to life.

How's it going? He clicks and whistles.

"Good." I reply, "What's up with the engine room?"

Ah, some pipes and disks are broken. Complicated enough that no one else could figured it out, but not the worst.

"Okay."

The next hour was spent cleaning, screwing, and hammering.

Hey Valdez, Festus calls out, There's someone at the door.

"Who?" I set down my tools and wipe grease off my hands.

Don't know. Has to be someone new. Can't get in.

I furrow my eyebrows. Who could possibly- No. It couldn't be. I slide out of the engine room and climb down from the Argo.

"Let 'em in." I tell Festus and the large door creaks open.

"Hey." A voice says.

"(Y/n)?" I ask. She comes into view, now in a Camp Half-Blood shirt and jeans, holding a plate of food.

"Wow." (Y/n) turns in a full circle, taking everything in.

"What are you doing here? Trying to catch me alone?" I smirk.

"No." She blushes a bit and I smile. I love making her blush. She looks so cute. "I noticed you weren't at dinner, so I brought you some."

"Aw..." I clutch my heart, "You notice me!" (Y/n) rolls her eyes. She hands me the plate of food and I don't deny how my stomach rumbles.

She runs a hand over the Argo ll and says, "What's this?"

I exhale, "It's a long story."

(Y/n) shrugs, "I have time."

I laugh and start telling her the whole story. She has all the right reactions at all the right times. She giggles and it lights up my heart, and when she sighs and gets sad for me, I want to hug her.

Once I'm finished with the food, we head to the engine room so I can finish working.

(Y/n) is as an attentive listener as ever, asking questions about everything.

But it's the last question that really confuses me. "And how are you handling things?"

I stop, "What do you mean?"

(Y/n) shrugs, "This is obviously a big deal to you and a lot of pressure. How are you doing? How are you handling things? Are you okay?"

"Oh." I pause, "I don't really know. No one's asked me that before."

"Really?" Her nose scrunches, "Then I'm not sure you are surrounding yourself with the best people."

I chuckle, "You sound like a therapist."

"They help." She mutters.

"And," I add, "My group of friends will be even better when you are in it!" I wink.

She scoffs, "Are you sure you're prepared for me? I will coddle everyone. My... friends always called me the maternal one." I notice she hesitates when she said friends. I decide not to push.

"Well-"

Festus interrupts me by whirring, Hey Valdez? It's gettin' late. I check my watch.

"Crap." I say, "It's after curfew, we gotta get back to our cabins." (Y/n) looks worried now. I feel an urge to confront her, "I don't know the way back," She says, "Nyssa showed me the way."

"Pfft!" I wave her off, "I'll take you." I grab her hand and we whisk off into the night.
