Mazikeens POV
I got talked into going Clean-up committee by both Bekah and Care. I walk in later than them. Leggings, hoodie,Nike's.
"Your late," They scold.
"Well,do you know how hard it is trying to escape Nik's death grip? Not easy," I retort, smiling.
"Let's get started in the gym," Rebekah told me, continuing their earlier conversation. We walk out and see Alaric, yes, the supposed dead guy, with white oak. "Your supposed to be dead!"
"I am," She attacks and he pins her. I slam him against the lockers with a growl. Caroline held him with me while Rebekah stakes him. He doesn't desiccate. We run off. I run with Caroline to her car, she drops her keys.
"Bekah, go! Don't look back," I whisper, knowing she's close. I look behind Caroline to see Alaric. I run at him,and fall into darkness when he snapped my neck.
-
I wake up hearing Caroline's whimpers. I feel pain in my hands and my face. I smelt it. Wolfsbane and vervain. I look down to see pencils. Then Elena runs in.
Don't cry. Nik will save you. Don't cry,Maze! I scold myself after feeling burning.
"Caroline,Maze! Let them go,Alaric," Elena says boldly.
"Free them yourself," He taunts. She runs to Caroline and attempts to free her, after I told her with a gesture of my head. Alaric slams it back in and she walks out in a cry of pain.
I scream at him through the gag.
"You said that you'd let them go," Elena cries.
"How many times so I have to tell you, Elena? Stop trusting vampires!"
She was about to cry, while I held my own in.
Stay strong! He'll come for you! He won't leave you here, right?
He takes off the gags and dips them into a beakers. Mine in two. Wolfsbane and vervain, nasty.
"No,don't, please don't," Caroline begs. I've just stayed silent, not giving him the satisfaction.
"Alaric, stop," Elena attempts to stop him. He pushes her back into the seat.
"Sit down," he finishes Caroline's and comes to mine. "This keeps the vervain in their system. Maze just has a bonus,Wolfsbane. It's like inhaling razor blaze with every breath. Maze' hurts worse, which begs the question. How is she withstanding it? Tell us."
"Why are you doing this," Elena inquires.
"To make it easier on you, when you put them out of their misery."
"What,no," Elena refused.
"Isn't that what you wanted, Elena? For me to teach you how to kill a vampire? Well, here's a vampire. And her hybrid sister, even better Klaus' mate," he hands her the stake. "Kill them."
"This isn't what I want," She exclaims.
"Of course it is," he said darkly while my head hung low nearing the desk. "All those hours you spent training, getting stronger...you could be a hunter, Elena. But you've never actually staked a vampire through the heart."
"Why are you doing this,"Elena asks, loudly, might I add.
"Because you need me. Because your an eighteen-year-old girl without parents or guidance or any sense of right and wrong," He says, also loudly.
"Look at you! How is this," she gestures to Caroline and I. "Right?"
"Their murderers. She," he pointed at Caroline. "She told me she killed someone and liked it. And her," he yanks my hair back tightly. "She's killed more than once. A witch, feeding, for fun, just because she could. That's how the werewolf gene triggers, by killing. She had a rough day and flipped her switch. Now, how is that right? See,Elena...your parents led the council. It was their life's mission to keep this town safe. They weren't dead six months before you undid it all."
