Silence filled the area. Jimin and Jungkook couldn't resist it—the sudden revelation left them with no words like Seong stole it along with their ability to talk when they took a stroll in a park, trying to avoid people so no one would notice Jungkook. However, the bunny just had the courage to glance over at Jimin and shatter the piercing silence by gripping onto Jimin's hand and looking into his eyes that housed countless glinting stars. "Jimin," Jimin met his gaze. Jungkook sighed and held his hand tighter. "It's going to be all okay." He assured, pursing his lips at the sudden declaration—and he did so because he wasn't all that sure.
"How can you be so sure?"
Jungkook bit his lip. "I'm not sure, Jimin. All I know is that I'll be by your side no matter what and help you get through it," The bunny forced a soft smile that Jimin didn't have the mental strength to return. He just stared into Jungkook's doe eyes, feeling his own well up and fall down his cheeks in torrents. "Please don't cry." Jungkook whispered. The mochi buried his face in Jungkook's chest and felt his tears drench the taller's shirt.
Jimin looked up at Jungkook. "Sorry—I seem like a crybaby. It's just that... that song wasn't my original melody. Yeah, I made the lyrics and added some tweaks here and there, but the melody was a tune my... parents... used to sing, and my very first crush stole it from me."
Jungkook engulfed Jimin into a pitying hug. "It's okay, Jimin. It's okay." Jungkook repeated.
A Month Later
Taehyung and Jimin still had their presidential student body conferences. They still had small talks. And they still had feelings for each other. And it was no surprise that soon Jimin also developed legitimate feelings for BTS' maknae and had a sense deep inside of him that he did too. It surprised him tenfold—that his longtime celebrity crush had become his best friend. It almost made Jimin fail to recall that he was once friends with his crush, Kim Taehyung.
But, those were memories now. Taehyung isn't in his life anymore. All he is is his associate in their consultations—not a crush, not a friend, just a formal workmate. Just another casual student on campus. But oh, have the tables turned—Jimin's social esteem skyrocketed because Jungkook always took his side. And being that Jimin is friends with all of BTS made him grow confident in what he did, and didn't need Jungkook's help to speak up to a bully.
Now, Taehyung is now a bygone celebrity. His status dwindled with his heart that felt nothing but agony. He was a forgotten light that now hid in the shadows of the corridors, concealed in masks and dark corners where people soon forgot he even existed. Even Seong, who once sought revenge, forgot the jock. It was as if Kim Taehyung filtered himself into a ghost. Only one person never forgot what impact Taehyung made in everyone's lives, and that is Park Jimin.
"Jesus, Jungkook. What could possibly go wrong?" Namjoon said.
Jungkook decided to meet up with his bandmates, and even Eun Yoon, to discuss his long awaited confession to his mochi. His teeth were chattering like crazy as he held the bundle of a dozen roses in his hands and brushed the lint of his clothes that indicated his formality. "Hyung, what if he rejects me?"
Eun rolled her eyes. "I have never heard anything more stupid."
"He was just like Yoongi when he confessed to Hobi." Seokjin chuckled.
Yoongi blushed a mad red. "Will you shut up? Everything is naturally scary when you want to confess, dumbass."
Hoseok winced. "Jungkook, don't listen to these idiots, all you have to do is say you love him a bunch, give him a kiss, and remember not to shit in your pants because that'll ruin the whole goddamn confession."
Jungkook continued to sulk. "Alright, whatever. Wish me luck!"
Jungkook ran out the door with a final wave at his friends, hopped in his vehicle, and drove to campus where he agreed to meet up with Jimin to help him with prom's song choices. Upon his arrival, he walked inside feeling a series of trembles trickling down his spine, prepping his chocolate brown hair to a pristine position and going inside the auditorium finding Jimin sitting on the floor and giving the radio a bitter look.
"Kookie! There you are! Sheesh, what took so long? Why do you look so—well—good? I mean, you always look good, but—"
Jungkook giggled and sat down beside him. "You're still the same dork I met." He patted the smaller's head making Jimin's frown turn into a pout.
"Just help me choose a song to play at prom!"
"Uh, well, I might have a good song. I composed and wrote it myself. I was going to ask Joon if I could put it in our upcoming album and stuff, but I wanted you to hear it first." Jungkook showcased his porcelain bunny teeth surrounded by his peach bunny lips. Jimin returned the smile.
"Alright; let's hear it!"
Jimin listened keenly as the halls echoed with Jungkook's dulcet tune, his voice mellifluous. Each lyric had such a significant role in the song, and the melodious commotion along with the tune of the chorus and verses had Jimin swaying with a broad smile on his plump lips. The bridge was so skillfully constructed, and the maknae's every note just drifted Jimin into Utopia that coaxed a feeling in him so beautiful that it was beyond his vocabulary.
"D-Did you like it?"
Jimin took him into a hug. "I loved it!"
Jungkook smiled shyly. "I-I made that song for you, hyung..."
Jimin's eyes widened. "W-What? F-For me? W-Why?" Jimin found himself unintentionally stuttering and shaking at the sudden remark. He felt a heat creep up his cheeks. Jungkook merely looked adoringly into his eyes.
"W-Well," Jungkook took a deep breath. "I have this big crush on you, Jimin. It's been there ever since I laid my eyes on you. And you know, I just wanted to say that you're reason why I wake up every morning, the reason why I smile, and it's the reason why I love you so, so much." Jungkook found himself drawing closer to the mochi's lips.
And Jungkook was about to close the gap when—
"J-Jimin..."
Jimin and Jungkook averted their gazes to where the sound came from, finding a hooded figure in a mask with his blue hair tucked in a black cap standing in the door frame.
Taehyung examined the scene—the flowers, their hands interlocked, how they were inches away from kissing—the jock couldn't take it at all. Wasn't Jungkook already his boyfriend? Does that mean he was lying, and he's only confessing now? His thoughts and emotions were so latently expressed when he sprinted to the mochi, took his hand, and dragged him to an alleyway at full speed where Jungkook wouldn't be able to know their location and pinned an astonished Jimin down onto its brick wall with tears building in his eyes. His gaze darted from the cement floors to glare into his crush's beautiful irises.
"J-Jimin, y-you can't kiss him." Taehyung's eyes looked hungrily desperate. His warm breath felt like a breeze on Jimin's bare skin. And it was so sudden and unexpected when Taehyung felt himself press his lips on Jimin's.
