Present (Y/N is 7 years old, Senjuro is 8 years old and Kyojuro is 13 years old):
Y/N POV
"You stupid child!" my father yelled at me and slapped me in the face, I froze in fear
"Father stop it!" Kyojuro says trying to pull him back with the help of Senjuro "You're hurting her!"
"No! She has got to learn how to be an obedient child! How else is she going to find a husband when she grows up?" my father says pushing my brothers away
"That's enough! She's young! She has many years to come!" Kyojuro yells at him as he blocks him from hurting me from him
"Tch-" my father then left the room, leaving me and my brothers alone, they then looked at me with comforting eyes
"Are you okay Y/N?" Senjuro asks
"I'm okay Onii-chan," I said smiling, I didn't want them to see my fear or my pain, and worry about a worthless person like me
"Are you sure?" Kyojuro asks, I nodded, he then hugs me, "I'll make sure he would never hurt you again,"
I hugged him back, Senjuro then joins in the hug.
"Let's go play outside!" Kyojuro said trying to lighten up the mood, he then carries me on his back, I smiled and laughed, we then ran around outside happily, we then rested on the wooden steps
"Onii-chan?" I asked for Kyojuro, he looks at me curiously, "Would father be happy if I became a demon slayer?"
"Why do you worry about his happiness? You should care about yours first," Kyojuro said smiling "I would be happy if you did, you would make the world a better place!"
My eyes then widened with admiration and happiness.
"Okay!" I said happily
Kyojuro POV
'Mom asked me to keep care of Y/N and Senjuro no matter what, and I'm planning to keep that promise...' I thought to myself, I then looked at Y/N smiling, 'She looks exactly like mom...'
Flashback (A year ago):
Kyojuro POV
"Kyojuro..." mom whispered to me
"Yes, mom?" I asked
"Promise me to keep care of your younger siblings no matter what, you three have great and powerful talent, please use it for the good..." my mother said smiling
"Yes mom," I said with relief
Flashback Ends
Y/N POV
"Y/N, Senjuro, would you like to go and watch the fireworks later? Today is the Summer Solstice Festival!" Kyojuro asked with a big bright smile
"Yes!" Senjuro and I exclaimed with happiness
"Okay! Let's get changed into our yukata's!" Kyojuro says
I then went into my room and changed into a red yukata with flowers, with a red cherry blossom hair pin that belonged to my mom. I smiled at it and placed it on my bun. I then stepped out and wore my sandals, where Kyojuro and Senjuro were wearing their red yukatas.
"Don't we have to tell father that we are going to the festival, Onii-chan?" I asked worriedly
"Don't worry about it! I told him already," Kyojuro says and grabs Senjuro's and my hand and drags us to the village, "Let's do some activities before the fireworks start!"
We went goldfish scooping. I caught one red one, while Senjuro caught an orange one, and Kyojuro caught a white one with orange and black blotches, we then placed them in a bowl to be placed in a pond at our home. We ate some food, the fireworks then were released. I stared at them with awe. It then finished.
"Did you like it?" Kyojuro asks
"Yes!" Senjuro and I said jumping up and down
"The fireworks are beautiful right?" Kyojuro asks me as he carries me on his back
"Mhm! They are like suns at night! When everything becomes dark and sad, then the fireworks go boom boom and become the light of the sky!" I said happily, Senjuro and Kyojuro giggled, we then arrived back home and placed the goldfishes into the pond, I then changed into my pajamas.
"Goodnight Y/N!" Senjuro and Kyojuro says
"Goodnight Onii-Chan!" I said happily, I then drifted off to sleep
Dream:
Y/N POV
I opened up my eyes and I was laying on many cherry blossom petals. I then saw a man with strange markings on his face. I stood up and walked to him.
"Excuse me, sir! Where am I? And who are you?" I asked politely
"I'm Yoriichi Tsugikuni, and you are in your dream, I'm just a projection," he says with a smile
"Woah! Cool!" I then sat down, as he sat down next to me "Tsugikumi-san, what are you doing in my dream?"
"I'm just here to guide you for the future..." he said with a smile, we then sat still for a bit, and then he got up
"Where are you going Tsugikumi-san?" I asked and tilted my head
"I'm not going anywhere," he says with a smile, as he slowly turned into flower petals "Whenever you need me just ask...Be as bright as the sun,"
He then disappears. I then got up and walked around in my dream. I then saw a familiar figure. It was my mom, I ran to her and hugged her.
"Mom!" I said happily, tears rolled down my cheeks "I miss you so much!"
"I miss you too dear..." my mom said smiling at me, she then looks and me and hugs me tightly "I'm so glad that I have such a sweet and strong child,"
I smiled and closed my eyes.
Dream Ends:
Y/N POV
I then woke up, I touched my face and felt the tears on my face, I then smiled. 'I'm so glad I saw you again mom...' I thought to myself. I then got up and changed, I made breakfast for my siblings and my father, even though they were still asleep. I then went into the library and read a book about the history of breathing techniques.
Kyojuro POV
I woke up and saw Y/N reading a book, I smiled 'Y/N has always been this intelligent,' I then went to go eat the breakfast Y/N made for me.
"Umai!" I said with happiness
