Out of breath, I sloppily took my last step before leaning on the pillar of UA's gate. Gathering back my breath, I looked at UA's building. Still from the first time I saw it when I was seven, The amazement stays and lives strongly. Looking down at the pathway, many other kids my age walked to the building, talked to each other, or looked at UA's building.
I got off the pillar, feeling better than earlier, and walked in myself. I had a plan for how I was gonna ace this exam. From what Izuku told me, the exam consists of robots that are valued at different points. One of which was the biggest threat but was worth nothing. Yet, he took it down with a single punch! That's what I want to do, excluding the punch part.
" Oh wow, you look great Eri!" A voice behind me said. It wasn't any voice like an old creep that somehow knows my name. No sir, It was the one only...
I turned around dove to him, latching to him in a hug. " Kota!" I said joyfully. Kota patted my back, also hugging me. " Long time no see, right?".
Pulling my head back and looking slightly up at him, I gave him a warm smile. " Too long!". I broke the hug and lightly punched his chest, " But now you're here, so everything's better.".
Looking at him now, he looked a bit different from the last time I saw him. Kota used to be the same height as me before, now he's a tiny bit taller than me. maybe by an inch or two. The hat hasn't changed, and I hope it never changes. Ooo! and he grew out of his baby face, a bit at least. He still has those same red shoes, just like Izuku.
" While I was gone," He started, I took my attention off of his appearance and to what he was saying, " What have you been up to? anything important, like preparing for the exam or...?"
" Well, it wasn't much but Izuku taught me a few things that he learned from his mentors. Then he took me to learn from a few of his friends."
Kota perked a brow, " A few friends? do you mean the ones in his class?". I nodded and replied, " Three girls to be specific. Ochako-sama, Tsu-sama, and Alien-sama.". Kota eye-rolled, I thought he was being rude for a moment, but then he added," He always had a certain connection with the females.". He sounded a bit jealous saying this. I grinned a bit, " Well, maybe the girls like him. I mean, I sure do~."
" Or He's socially awkward when it comes to girls. at least, back then." Kota mentioned. Remembering now, Anytime a girl was near him, he was way tenser. A light blush would appear on his face when they talked to him. It wasn't all the time it happened but it sure wasn't rare.
" Yeah, you're right about that. But he was able to do it without much problem with those three. is that a sign of improvement?"
He took a second of thinking. " I guess so."
" Anyway, what did you learn from them?" he asked.
" From Ochako-sama, I learned that there's more to your quirk than just the basic area. Tsu-sama taught me to keep calm and collected when it came to stressful situations. and Alien-sama was to be in sync with yourself and your quirk.".
Kota nodded, taking it in. His expression seemed as he was thinking. I wondered what he was thinking.
" And you? What did you go through?" I asked, breaking his thought chain and changing his expression back to normal. " Me? I trained with my cousin and her friends. and thanks to you, Shiretoko was able to help."
I remember that. When I was able to control my quirk, I reverted until she had her quirk. She was overjoyed about it, I saw her crying in relief. I think it's been a year since she had her quirk. Only able to work as an assistant and not in the field to help out.
" No problem, glad I could help. Even though they retired, It's good they taught you." I told, patting him on the shoulder.
" Now that I think about it, Did you learn anything special with your quirk? Because I sure did." He said looking slightly smugly.
" New thing huh?", I give him my own smug look," Maybe, maybe not~ but! I'll still get more points than you.". A little taken aback, He wagged a finger at me, " Now now, Which do you think is better? having to take time to reverse something or short-circuiting it, hm?".
Hmm, It does take a tiny bit to rewind something or someone, but it doesn't take that long. On the other hand, he shoots it with water and he can move on. But possibly he needs more than a quick spray to shut it down. or even then, Maybe the robots are water-resistant...
" That's a good question but we won't know until we do it, right?" I said, moving past him. " Let's go and test it!". I took his hand and dragged him off into the building, not giving him a second to respond. I'll be honest, when I stepped in, all my confidence faded. Deep down, I am scared. If I fail, It'll make me regret not taking that recommendation. Not only that, I don't want to disappoint Izuku...
Surprisingly, Present mic was still working at Yuuei. With a typical Mic volume, He announced the exam and what it was. Not to my surprise, It was the same exam Izuku explained to me. Four robots, three-valued from one, two, and three. And fourth being zero but the most deadly but impressive if you're able to take it down.
After he was done, We were split into a few groups. I found out that I and Kota weren't in the same group. but that wouldn't stop us from seeing who could get the most points. We bid our good lucks and went our separate ways.
Making it to my area, It was crowded with other kids. I started getting this anxious feeling deep down. Will everyone start looking at me? Do I have something on my face? Is my horn that weird- Hey! Calm down, It'll be alright. I'm sure everyone here is welcoming!
" Why can't they have isolated exams..." Someone groaned from nearby. The comment was rather rude if you take it a certain way, but they didn't bother to hide it. When I looked over, only a few people had noticed his words but didn't think much of it.
The boy that said it had black, straight hair with lime green eyes. his outfit consisted of a black-based shirt with a green ring near the neck that had Egyptian-like symbols on it. In the middle of his shirt was an eye with a green iris. His pants seemed to be regular black pants. And his jacket matched with the whole Black and green scheme, there were also green ribbons sticking out of it from the ends and the back.
He stood alone, or rather away from everyone else. His expression was filled with distaste. Distaste of what? I can't tell. But relating to what he said, maybe he hates people.
I decided to leave him by himself since my original idea would involve getting near him and i assume he wouldn't like that
Sooner or later, Mic announced the start of the exam, everyone went into the exam area. I followed too but taking a look back, I saw the boy waiting. Guess he really does hate people.
i turned around and was presented with a robot, metal pieces flying mayhem. Everywhere I looked, I saw someone attacking a robot, some of which were destroyed while I stared. But, this was good. that meant farther back areas most likely didn't have anyone. And so, that's where I head off to next.
Thankfully, I was correct. when I went to the far west side, I saw rows of robots. The first one that spotted me was a one-pointer. Being the weakest, it made a short walk for me. this gave me more than enough time to use my quirk. (for further reference, even though her quirk doesn't work on nonliving things but for the sake of this story, it does. thanks for your cooperation.) A yellow, sparkly aura formed around my horn and extended to the robot. Surrounding it in the aura, in just a moment, it reversed back to pieces of metal. Turning off my quirk, the metal fell with a clang.
