my mom hates tattoos and even though my family is diverse and different

i've noticed none of my siblings have drawn on their skin

unless it was out of pure authority rejection 

ive grown to understand that what you teach your kids

your own opinions may leech onto them 

and eventually they'll figure out all this time they've been hiding

because they've been waiting for a bathroom pass

for permission 

to express some part of themselves so hidden

simply because their mother decided tattoos are forbidden
