CALAMITY.
The dead have risen.
It's a disaster, it's a nightmare. It's the world coming to an end.
Many people believe it to be God's wrath but Aiden Walsh doesn't believe that. She believes it's simply just the world finally throwing the human's own shit back at them.
Humans broke the world. They destroyed it with pollution and contaminating the oceans with trash. They destroyed it by killing innocent animals until their names were on the endangered lists.
And now, it's the human's turn to be on the endangered list.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
yes, i am rewriting the entire calamity series. is it going to take absolutely forever?? yes. but i'm fully prepared to take as much time as i need to rewrite this series to give aiden what she deserves and that's definitely not my writing from 2019.
obviously my writing style has much improved since 2019. you can tell by reading my more recent works ;). you guys should check them out.
obviously daryl is her love interest. fourteen year old me didn't even consider their ages when first writing this story (aiden was twenty-three and daryl in his thirties), but more recent me has obviously made the decision that their ages are VERY important. aiden's age has been upped to twenty-six and daryl's "confirmed" age is thirty-two, which is not that big of an age gap considering that they're both consenting adults with fully developed frontal lobes.
and speaking of darden, it's clearly going to be a slow burn. they are also enemies to lovers. so, yay, two of my favorite romance tropes. the slow burn is obvious because daryl is so daryl in seasons one and two. we get several scenes of them throughout the seasons leading up to when they get together and developing their relationship so be excited for that!
DO NOTTTTTTTTT hate on aiden for loving her brother. shane is a horrible person but aiden never finds out what he does to lori at the cdc (if she did, it would be a whole other story). but shane is literally her big brother. he helped raise her and he's saved her life on more than one occasion. so please, don't hate on that if you don't understand what it's like to be a sibling.
if you've already read the entire calamity series you know that i haven't written the final book in the series since 2021 and i've put it on hold until further notice. i said it on my message board that i will not actively continue reckless until i finish rewriting this series.
i know most of you love aiden almost as much as i do and i think we can all agree this is very exciting. so without further ado, let's get into this new but not so new adventure!!
