Amélie

Hearing a loud knock at the front door I shifted in the bed sheets. Squeezing my eyes shut I held back a whine hearing another loud knock.

Sitting up I settled my hands by my side. Rubbing the sheets under my fingertips I suddenly frowned. How did I end up in bed?

Standing up I made my way towards the front door. Adjusting my hoodie I opened the door to see a huge bouquet of purple and white tulips sitting in front of me. Frowning in confusion I peeked out the door, but no one was around. Picking up the tulips I closed the door behind me with my foot.

Staring at the pretty colors I settled the heavy flowers on the counter. Grabbing the note settled right in the middle I slipped the small piece of paper out of its envelope.

Hope you slept well, love
Dominic.

Smiling at the note the memories from last night rushed back to me. I had fallen asleep on the couch after a while of talking, did he put me to bed?

I set the note down on the counter and grabbed a vase out from under the sink. Filling it up with water I turned the tap off once I was satisfied.

Hearing my phone ring I set the vase down and went over to the dining table. Seeing his name flash on my screen I smiled before answering it.

"More flowers? I wasn't being serious last night." I giggled.

"Your old flowers were dying off, I had to." He replied.

I could almost see his smile from here.

"Thank you." Feeling my cheeks heat up I put him on speaker and put my phone down beside me.

"Anytime, doll." He chuckled. "Are you doing anything tonight?"

Grabbing a white tulip out of the bouquet I replied with a no before I put the flowers one by one in the new vase.

"Good, we have a reservation at eight for dinner. Be ready by seven thirty." He suddenly told me.

Frowning in confusion I wiped my hands off and picked my phone up. Taking it off speaker I walked into the bedroom.

"I never said you could take me out to dinner."

"I didn't ask, Amélie." His voice was almost teasing.

"Dominic, I could have said I had plans, what would you have done then." I frowned.

"I would've changed the reservation for another time and date." He was being hard right now.

"Dominic I have nothing to wear." Looking through the closet I shook my head at the clothing items I had hung up.

"Anything is fine, doll. Wear something warm and comfortable. I wanna take you somewhere after and it'll be cold."

Talking for a few more seconds we hung up and I threw my phone on the bed.

What was I supposed to wear. I literally had nothing to wear. I couldn't show skin or wear a dress because it was freezing outside. Gazing at my clothes I looked over at the clock on the bedside table. It was about to be nine am and I was hoping to sleep in today considering it was a Saturday.
