Avery was fast asleep in her bed, Fennekin beside her sleeping peacefully. Lycanroc was in its dog bed as Hattrem rested on her desk. Fennekin rolled around to face Avery still asleep. It was still the middle of the night..
Avery shifted her arms slightly moving to hug Fennekin, Suddenly a cup fell off Avery's desk waking her up "Hattrem? That you?" Avery asked the pokemon sitting up slowly seeing her pokemon fast asleep "U-uhm..Ash? Goh? Please tell me this is a prank! If so its not funny!" Avery looked around in fear, She stood up and stared at the room before turning around seeing a Gengar in her face "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" She screamed waving her arms about. It must of woken up Ash and Goh as they ran in seeing Avery standing in her room, No Gengar in sight
"Avery!" Goh looked concerned before the two boys blinked and Ash got annoyed "What was the nightmare," He asked "No nightmare! A Gengar was in here!" She turned around to them "Avery, Just go back to sleep.." The boys yawned and closed her door. Still scared she fell back asleep hugging a Clefairy doll

Avery woke up to Ash knocking on her bedroom door "Avery, Breakfast!" He called into the room "coming," Avery mumbled and Fennekin stood up stretching herself out before nudging Avery's head. When Avery sat up, She quickly walked to get breakfast still in pj's.

She walked down the stairs seeing Chryssa and Professor Cerise in the basement. Ugh she hated basements..Relentles, Avery followed inside "Uh..Whats wrong with Ren?" She asked seeing Ren on the floor in shock "Gengar~" A voice said from behind them. Avery turned around seeing nothing..Strange till Gengar flew up to them now visible. Mouth wide open going through them. Avery walked up seeing Yamper growling at something. Yamper jumped up making a silhouette of Genger appear "Uh.."
Genger suddenly turned visible making Avery scream "GET IT AWAY, GET IT AWAY GET IT AWAY!" She ran hiding behind Goh ducking lightly to properly hide. Goh chuckled nervously "T-thats the Gengar i saw last night! It made a cup fell then scared me" She mumbled holding Goh's shoulders
Suddenly Gengar used shadow ball and Pikachu used iron tail back. Gengar suddenly started making everything float and doors swing open. Pikachu used thunder bolt and Gengar disappeared as everything fell back down "I can see why you screamed now.." Goh looked at all the broken plant pots on the floor "I did not scream! I was merely getting your attention" She jumped back stopping hiding behind Goh and flattening out her pj's

Ash and Goh were racing the house. Genger suddenly appeared as Goh threw a pokeball.
Avery walked through the corner earning a pokeball to the face "Ouch! What was that for Goh?!" She yelled to the boy seeing him standing guilty "I am NOT a pokemon! Go find that Gengar or something" Avery waved her hand as the two boys pointed behind her "Go Pokeball!" Goh threw another pokeball as Avery turned around seeing Gengar "NOT YOU AGAIN" Avery screeched and hid behind Ash earning a chuckle from Ash "and you say you arent scared" He comments "I-im not! Im just surprised.." She defended
"Im going to my room!" She stood up and walked away

Avery was brushing Hattrem's hair, Lycanroc was resting against the bed, Protecting her in a way as Fennekin sat down waiting for her turn till she heard the door assuming the Genger was gone..Avery stood up walking down the stairs with Hattrem beside her as Gengar threw a shadow ball her direction
"AAHH" She screamed stumbling back, Suddenly the shadow ball was split in half and Fennekin was standing in a defense position "Thank you, Fennekin!" Avery thanked the pokemon picking her and Hattrem up

The boys were searching for Genger as Avery was drinking tea, There was no chanc she'd look for Gengar. The door closed and Yamper ran off to see Chloe, When she walked in she saw Chloe holding Yamper and Gengar behind the two "Fennekin! Use ember quick!" Avery ordered and Fennekin leaped forward trying to burn Gengar. Gengar dodged and laughed loudly
Avery felt herself shiver from Gengar's smile, She went to back up but saw Fennekin was determined to win "Alright, Fennekin use hidden power!" Avery ordered as Fennekin shot out hidden power. Gengar controlled the hidden power hurting Fennekin with it as avery quickly caught the small fox
Suddenly, Avery was being lifted up by Gengar's physic so she couldnt battle or help Chloe. Ash and Goh ran in seeing Gengar about to attack Chloe with shadow ball, Pikachu used thunder bolt on Gengar saving Chloe and Yamper "Avery!" Goh looked up to her in the air "I tried to stop it!" She said back feeling stiff, Gengar quickly used the same thing he did to Avery and lifted them up aswell
Yamper jumped down growling to Gengar as the professors ran in "Hmm, Yamper, use spark, now!" Professor Cerise said but Yamper did nothing. Chloe was told to battle with Yamper, Avery started screaming as she was lifted up higher. Yamper suddenly used a powerful spark knocming Gengar out the house and dropping them all "What a spark!" Avery looked at the open door in shock
Fennekin was in the same shock watching Chloe hug Yamper as Avery held Fennekin

Later that night, Avery was in her room braiding Hattrem's hair. Hattrem purred happily as Avery smiled at the pokemon "You like your hair being braided, Right?" She asked and recieved a nod with happiness.
Has Avery over come her fear of being scared?!
Suddenly Avery screamed at the door being opened by the boys "Uh, Goodnight Avery.." They said awkwardly
Maybe not...As the journey continues...
