There might be some strong language
Chaeryeong's POV
It's been a week since I ran away from Yeji's house. I am never going back to talking to her or being nice to that jerk ever again. I told myself.
I hadn't been talking to anyone in classes these days because I didn't feel like it. Nobody is worth my energy. Not even the lecturers. It's Miss Wendy Son again, but I couldn't keep up with journalistic grammar in a press release or whatever she was talking about. After the class, I usually went straight home and got some sleep. Avoiding roaming around the school so as not to pass her, Hwang Yeji. Luckily I hadn't seen her either.
Dance team signing up? Chungha? Forget it. I thought I was just making friends the other day with that person who claimed to like me. What kind of friends did something like that. I thought I was just getting there again, being a better student, but now I couldn't socialize because of that. Oh boy..
I walked home but suddenly my phone rang; Chaeyeon-unnie called me.
"Ryeong, if you're off school, let's have a walk at the park near your campus. I'm here with my friend!"
"Ah Unnie, I'm so tired I'll just go home now"
"Tired my foot! There are deli manjoo parlours here. You used to love eating manjoos, right?"
"Well I still do. Alright but I can't stay long. See you, Unnie.." I hung up my phone and headed limply to the city park nearby.
Turned out there was a food festival right there. I looked for the deli manjoo parlours and saw Chaeyeon-unnie eating some in front of the stall.
"Chaeyeon-ah! Your sister's coming," someone with a short hair pointed at me.
"Majja, Kkura-Chan. Ryeongie!!" Now I saw Chaeyeon-unnie shouting and waving her hand. Why did she always have to be so extra?
"Hi Unnie.. What's up?" as i sat down on an empty seat across from her.
"Just chilling, the radio hosted this festival and thought you would like some deli manjoo.""Oh okay.."
"No, really. I know you've been sleeping in the whole day this week and I know something must be up. Since we can't talk after work -- cause I'd be too sleepy and you'll be sleeping at night too, let's spend some time here."
I felt so awkward in front of this bob-haired lady, listening to my excessive sleeping problem.
"Dang it, right I forgot to introduce you to Sakura. We work together at the radio. And we're kinda going out for a while now."
Oh wow.. She could be so calm introducing her potential girlfriend to me. That's probably why she felt at ease giving me a big sis pep talk session in front of a stranger. What a show-off, Unnie.
"Annyeong, Sakura-nim."
"Just call me Kkura-Chan like everyone does," as she grinned excitedly and waved a little.
Oh yeah, I hadn't told Unnie about what happened last weekend when I didn't come home, which I thought was equally bad. I just looked at the deli manjoos on the table and took one to eat.
"Good, so now you can't answer me," she rolled her eyes and I choked laughing watching it.
"Don't mind me, I have a very short memory so wouldn't remember what you guys talk about here," said Sakura jokingly, noticing me feeling shy and awkward.
"Alright.. Did you remember the other weekend, Unnie? When I stayed at a friend's house?"
"Ohh when I came into your apartment and slept in your bed?" asked Sakura to Chaeyeon-unnie. Unnie instantly kicked Sakura under the table and whispered a shut up. It was so obvious and Sakura seemed startled.
"Oh yeah, last weekend right?"
"Yeah, I wanted to spend some time with this person because she seemed nice and kind. Although people might think that she's mean. However, it was just about time for me to make friends again since I moved all the way here. You know how my social life was ruined back in my old school that I had to transfer to Seoul and move in with you...."
I sighed and Unnie kept waiting for my words, "So what happened?"
"I spent the night there talking and watching series, eating and playing with puppies. It was all good until she started kissing me all of a sudden.."
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
"I know right... I couldn't avoid it so I told her to stop, you know? But she didn't.."
"Son of a bitch, did she do something to you?"
"More like, the contrary. She didn't stop and even continued to.. bite my.. I mean- she was pressuring me. So I slapped her face and pushed her really hard."
"Ugh, that bitch needed to learn a lesson." Unnie sounded really pissed.
Sakura held my hand and did not say anything. Like she was sympathizing with me.
"I just don't wanna think about it at the moment, I don't wanna see her in class, you get what I'm saying?... I don't even wanna go to school.. again"
"No shit, Ryeongie. You can't do something that won't benefit yourself. This is that fucker's fault and not yours. If there should be someone who doesn't go to school, it's that son of a bitch. You have all the right to enter classes freely. Not again!" She WAS really pissed off.
"What happened?" asked Sakura but we ignored her question.
"Well it's good cause I haven't seen her around, so I never had to run away or hide."
Sakura wanted to say something again while still holding my hand.
"But I think it's better to resolve it between you two.. It might be hard to face her though, especially if you're not on good terms." said Sakura. Both of us just looked at her weirdly.
"That's just what I thought. You can't avoid her forever and she cannot not show up in school forever." Sakura shrugged and both of us knew that she had a point.
"Probably, somewhere in the future. I'm not ready yet," I said.
"Yes, just what's best in your favor, Ryeongie." said Chaeyeon-unnie and she fed me another manjoo.
All of us were quiet for a minute until Sakura asked the same question again.
"So, what happened?"
"Where?"
"In your previous school."
"Oh.. Nothing special. It just sucks,"
I could feel Chaeyeon-unnie suddenly glared at someone behind me. Her face changed really quickly.
"Speak of the devil…" She said while still looking over my shoulder.
"What do you mean?" Me and Kkura-Chan said at the same time.
Then I turned around to see what was happening behind me.
That's when I saw her… the devil herself.
