Kasia's hands shook as they reached out to unlock the door to her shared apartment. Sonya was behind her carrying their bags, to say Kasia was nervous would be an understatement. Not only was Kasia coming back physically and mentally different but she was bringing a girlfriend back.
Kasia knew that her family or friends wouldn't believe her about what she went through so Kasia came up with the story that she freaked out and had to go away for an excursion for a few weeks instead of days and that's how she met Sonya. It worked in Kasia's mind but only if Sonya kept up with the lie, if not then the lie was going to bubble over and ruin them both.
The two of them planned to stay at the apartment for a little bit before meeting up with Cole in Hollywood to find Johnny Cage, someone else who has the mark. Kasia didn't know how she planned to break the news to her roommates at her family but she had to explain that somehow. "Are you gonna turn the doorknob or are we just gonna keep staring at the door?' Sonya breaks Kasia out of her thoughts making her jerk back into reality. "Sorry, I'm just really nervous." Kasia sighed looking at Sonya before turning back to the door and turning the knob, it clicked when it opened.
She sniffed the air as she stepped into the house, someone was making cookies. "I'm in the kitchen Alon," Zachary said making Kasia freeze, she nodded at Sonya to put the bags on the couch which the blonde-haired woman did and Kasia put her hand out for Sonya to stay in there. Kasia thought it would be better to see Zachary first before surprising him with the fact that she has a girlfriend.
Kasia takes a deep breath and walks towards the kitchen, she knocks on the doorway to the kitchen so Zachary would look up from where he is rolling out the dough. "Hi, I'm back." Kasia smiles slightly when Zachary goes wide-eyed and abandons his dough in favor of giving Kasia a huge hug. "Oh my god, we were all so scared. Your note so you were only going to be gone for a couple of days then when I texted you why aren't you home yet you said you were going to be longer. Where the fuck were you Kasia?"
Kasia presses her lips together and watches as Zachary goes back to his dough to put it in the fridge. "I just had to get away, I thought it was going be to shorter but it wasn't because I met someone." Kasia half lied easily, she hated lying to her friends but she knew why she was doing it but it didn't make her feel much better about it. "Are they here with you?" Zachary asks, Kasia nods and gestures for Zachary to follow her to the living room where Sonya was waiting awkwardly.
"Hi, Sonya Blade." Sonya held her hand out for Zachary to shake which he did with a look towards Kasia. "I met Sonya while I was hiking, I wasn't excepting to meet someone obviously but when I saw her I fell head over heels for her." Kasia beamed at Sonya who looked down to hide her blush. "Well, uh nice to meet you. Alon should be on the way back with some pizza, have you seen your Dad and Hameed yet?" Kasia shook her head as she and Sonya down next to each other on the loveseat. "I haven't uh I plan on seeing them after I say Hi to Alon if that's alright with you?" Zachary rubbed his hand on his face and nodded. "Of course, I heard from this morning and they said they were at work so you could surprise them there."
Kasia opened her mouth to say something but the doorknob started to turn, making her look at Sonya in surprise and grabbed her hand squeezing it excitedly. "Kasia is back," Zachary says as he grabs the pizza from Alon's hand. "What?" Alon looks at Zachary confused but he just nods his head towards the living room where Kasia has a smile on her face. "Holy shit, you're back." Alon walks up to her quickly and gives her a big hug, but when he pulls back he notices Sonya sitting beside Kasia. "Who's this your girlfriend?" Alon jokes but when Kasia doesn't say anything his eyes go wide.
"Hi, I'm Sonya Blade. Kasia and I met while she went on her little excursion and I'm sorry but I'm why she stayed so long." Sonya shakes his hand but ALon surprises Kasia and Sonya by pulling the blonde girl into a tight hug. "I'm sorry I didn't make it back when I said I was, I was about it but then I met Sonya and I had to stay. I didn't know how long that was going to be but I knew I had to when I saw her face." Kasia looks at Sonya who kisses her on the cheek.
"Have you seen your Dad and Hameed yet?" Alon asks sitting on the coffee table in front of the two women. "No, not yet. I wanted to see you two first and drop off our bags. How are they doing?" Kasia looks between Alon and Zachary who both shrug. "Okay as they can be. I think you're gonna have a lot of explaining to do though." Alon grabs Zachary's hand and hums in agreement with Zachary.
Kasia presses her lips together and stares at Sonya. "Should we go ahead and put our bags in my room then we can go see them?" Kasia asks Sonya who nods and stands up, Sonya holds her arm out for Kasia to take which she does. Sonya takes two bags and Kasia grabs the other, she unlocks her room door and puts her bag on her bed and Sonya follows. "This is our room for the next few days," Sonya says kissing Kasia on the lips. "It is, shall we?" Kasia asks grabbing Sonya's hand. "Let's see your family." Sonya leads Kasia towards the living room.
Kasia is dreading having to tell everyone that they're leaving in a few days but she will in time, and this time she can contact them anytime so she wants. Things have changed a lot since Kasia first met Sonya, and she's grateful for the person who Sonya helped make her into.

Whew! It was very go-go at the end because it was all fight scenes but I'm proud of this story, I never expected to make a Sonya Blade fic but maybe I should have because I've always loved her and the movie only remade the love. I hope you guys enjoyed <3
