Shadyside vs Sunnyvale (3)

Classes went by fairly quickly today, during my last class the principal made an announcement 

"Any students participating in band, cheer, or football must report to the gym for a meeting discussing tonights game, thank you."

I got up and headed down to the gym. I entered and stood by Kate in a group of cheerleaders.

"In light of recent events Sunnyvale will be holding a candle lit vidual for the victims of last nights tragedy, all band, cheer, and football attendance is manditory." The coach announced 

I looked over at Deena who Kate and I made eye contact with. She made a finger gun and pretended to shoot herself, I could tell that she was 100% super stoked for the game tonight.

After the meeting was over I met Simon outside and he drove me home. As we parked in front of my house he looked over at me.

"How do you think tonights gonna go?" He asked

"I think we're gonna lose." I said jokingly he smiled and gave a slight laugh

"Yeah, yeah probably," He agreed "You think Deena is gonna have the balls to talk to Sam tonight?" He asked as he grabbed my hand and rubbed his thumb over my knuckles. Simon's love language is physical touch, even before we started dating he would unconciously hold my hand or wrap his arm around me and my love language is physical touch as well so I didn't mind.

"I think she will, I just hope everything goes smoothly and they don't end up yelling at each other, I mean you remember their break up?" I said

"We'll be there for her no matter what and plus after that whole Sam thing is over with we can go back to focusing on what's really important?" He said

"And that is?"

"Me! I was just awarded with employee of the month at the store, that deserves a celebration" 

"You win it every month Simon." I say with a joking smile

"Wow. Are you not proud of me?" He asked in a sad sarcastic tone

"Of course I'm proud of you, I'll find out what channel that shark documentary that you wanted to watch is on so we can watch it when we help Kate babysit tomorrow as a celebration how about that?" I say

"Ah perfect, I knew I dated you for a reason, I'll see you soon." He said as he gave me a kiss on the cheek and ushered me out of his car so he could go get ready for the game. He took pride in his witch costume. 

A few hours later and it was time for the game, I said goodbye to my Aunt Cass who became my guardian after my parents passed away when I was in middle school. She worked as a nurse so she was rarely around. I walked out and got in my car and drove to the school, Simon never drives me to school before games because he likes to race me there. I get to the school and get on the bus that takes us to Sunnyvale. I walk down the aisle and see Simon already in a seat near the back.

"Dammittt!" I exclaimed while throwing my head back in defeat 

"I'm just too good what can I say? Here I'll let you have the window seat even though you lost." He said as he got out and gestured towards the seat

"What a gentleman" I say as I slide into the seat

"You two need to get a room" Kate said as she got into the seat beside ours

"Whattt? It's not like we're making out in front of you.... although we could be..."

"Please no." Kate said

I look up the aisle and see Deena walking down not looking to happy to be here which is understandable, she sits 2 seats behind us and starts listening to her tape. I almost get out of the seat to check on her but the bus starts moving and everyone sits down.
