There are days when I can't see

The birds chirping in the trees

And the sun behind the clouds

Or the children playing in the street

And I tried so very hard to wipe the fog from my eyes

Not to be deceived anymore, I’m tired of the lies

So I ran.

As far I could and as fast as I can

I heard them scream, “don’t run so fast!”

But I can’t stop, im running from the past

This path that I run, it’s pretty scary

But I can see clearer now, my footsteps in front of me

And ye the path is very dark sometimes, my shadows engulfing me

And I do trip and stumble, and I when I see you I mumble

But I see where im going, though scars stain my skin

I still see your ghost in the summer night wind

But it’s okay because

I can hear the birds chirping

And see the sun behind the clouds

And hear the faint laughter of children

These days are better, because I can see
