Why do we have to be silent?

Why are we expected to just suck everything up and act as if its nothing

It perplexes me how we just let the vexes of ourselves take control

Sending us into a damaged and reckless state

We ache for a single soul to ask the words

None of which only adds to the kindle of wood-burning inside us

It makes no sense why it's so frowned upon

We're all human

We shouldn't constantly have to play a mental rebound with ourselves

Or think of ourselves as earthbound

Our head doesn't have to constantly hurt with the bottled up emotions that we feel

Keeping them in only slowly peels away at ourselves

We just want to let it out

It doesn't take much

All we ask sometimes is that someone listens

So we can keep a glistening hope that we can still be okay

Then we don't have our mental space stuck stray

I don't care what's what

I just don't like how our feelings are considered taboo

We're just human beings sealing the meanings to ourselves shut

Too many reasons to keep it to ourselves

Fears and distress only continue to have our heads compress

Sometimes we just want to say something

Some of us just want to be heard
