This is a bittersweet moment. Saying goodbye to a place that has been there for me the past couple of years- teaching me the skills I need to go out into the big wide world. Some of you may be wondering why is school so important. Well, not only does it help you become more confident in your own abilities to do things, but it's a place where you find friends which end up becoming family.
Let me explain how. You are put in a safe, controlled place with people of similar ages to you, so you know that they will have some of the same thoughts as you. Lessons are full of people with the same ability as you, meaning that they understand what you are talking about. English itself, helps you make friends. Without English you wouldn't be able to speak fluently or talk to the people around you which is a big thing you need to be able to do when meeting new people. I could go on and on about how there are secret things that school teaches us without us knowing. But I'll cut it short.
The school provided me with after school activities, they're open to you as well. I myself done after school netball. It allowed me to connect with people who enjoyed the activity from my school but with people from schools who we competed against. Netball is a competitive sport. You win some and you lose some. Having a strong bond with your teammates makes the losses not so bad as you all support each other. Which is another good way the school makes your time in education more enjoyable.
'Education is not just about which school you go to, or what qualifications you gain; it is also about what you learn from your experiences outside of school.' This is a very important statement. It tells us that yes school and education is important, but it says that you shouldn't stress about how you done in the tests or that your classmate Harry got a higher mark than you, it's about what you then do to improve your work and how you apply those skills in the world. So, stop worrying about getting the highest mark and just try your hardest- because at the end of the day, believing in yourself and your ability is better than any grades in my mind.
Thank you.
