"Riley can I talk to you in private?" I asked my wife as she stared at me blankly "Riley come on let me talk to you." She continued staring into nothing I have only ever seen her like this once when she found out that she is adopted she looked so broken and I promised her that she would never feel that way ever again and yet today I'm causing her pain
I was snapped out of my train of thought when she finally spoke "Get out."
"Riley I just want you to talk to--
"No." She seethed "you completely broke my trust and you expect me to listen to you?"
"Riley you are all I've got you and Emma." I pondered "you have your parents and" she sighed "your wife leave Emma and I alone." She yelled at me as I dropped to my knees in front of her "Riley I need you, you are my wife."
"Technically she isn't as you married Anna first." My Mom interrupted
Riley wiped her tear stained face and looked at me with a stoic expression "I want you gone, if wont do it for yourself or for me do it for Emma it's not healthy for her to go through this now." She said almost carefree
"Riley I love you." I breathed out "and I appreciate your love but I need you to go." She smoothly answered with a cold smile plastered on her face "Riley dont do this to us."
"I am not doing anything, you did this."
"I am done talking about this get out take your parents with you and say hi to Anna."
I knelt in front of her waiting for her to tell me that she doesn't believe everything or that she still wants around or that Emma needs a Dad but to no avail she just stood there looking at me like the most disgusting being on the planet
"Ryan get out is so hard to understand?"
"Okay I'm leaving." I give up
"But do you still love me?" I asked
"I dont know Ryan I honestly dont know." She said in a stern voice
"Okay, let's go." I said gesturing to the two people who have singlehandedly ruined my family as I walked out of my home leaving my heart inside it.
The heart feels alive when love is in existent anything else is merely biological.
