you took a deep breath before entering the cab, your mind racing with fantasies about what would happen that night...

-

the restaurant was beautiful, it was located in the top few floors of a very tall building. it had such elegant architecture, from old statues of angels to vines delicately hanging from the ceiling. a man peacefully played a grand piano in the background, creating an ambient atmosphere.

your father reserved the very top floor which gave a fascinating view of los angeles. since it was nighttime, the skyline accompanied with the lights from buildings looked as scenic as ever.

there were lots of round tables on the top floor and a grand bar which had almost every single drink available. each round table had names per seat, so you nervously checked the names of everyone at your table.

there was your seat...

#1 y/n white

then the seat to your left...

#2 scott white (your father)

#3 adriana white (your mother)

#4 marco simone (mr simone)

then the final seat which would be next to you at your right...

"thank god." you muttered to yourself.

-

twenty minutes or so had passed and you had spent it silently scrolling through pinterest while waiting on the tables to finally fill.

the only person missing from yours was charlie.

"so y/n, what've you been up to today, eh?" mr simone smiled, lighting his cigar.
"oh you know, nothing much." you grinned back, attempting to shut out conversation.
your mother noticed and decided to save you from the small talk, "you know, marco, she's joining charlie at his theatre for work." she said proudly.
"i heard... speak of the devil, there he is." mr simone nodded towards the door, a hint of jealousy in his eyes.

there he was.
mr charlie barber.

he stood tall, his suit impeccable. he checked his watch before running his fingers through his hair as he scanned the tables. his eyes met yours.

charlie couldn't help but beam as soon as he saw you sat there, looking pretty as ever. he loved how you nervously tucked a strand of hair behind your ear upon noticing him, you were such a sweet little thing.

he lead his way to your table, greeting everyone individually, saving you until last.

"evening y/n, you look beautiful." he complemented innocently, but you both knew he really meant it.
you couldn't help but blush, something which mr simone picked up on and raised an eyebrow at you.
you looked down to avoid the embarrassment.

"adriana, you don't happen to know where i'm seated, do you?" charlie spoke quietly to your mother.
she nodded in response, "beside y/n, honey." she smiled warmly.
"oh, thank you." he walked behind you, his fingers grazing your back, sending shivers down your spine.
you wanted his touch. no, you needed his touch.
