«Quand on n'a que l'amour pour tracer un chemin et forcer le destin a chaque carrefour.»- Jacques Brel

The fun season just arrived: pep rallies, shows, games, parties, and other tournaments. Today, we began it by doing a stupid introduction show. This was very funny because Trinity had no sports team; they supported York University. You would believe such a big school would have other fun activities than swimming and art classes. The third-ranking stood for brainwashing jail.

I pushed the auditorium's door and immediately regretted coming to this show. I shuddered when I looked at the dense and noisy cloud of students.
They paid attention to me and started clapping and hollowing. Why were they doing that? I was here every day. I confusingly followed Xavier and Agea to our seats, all the way to the top, under the guys' whistling and the heavy stares of Kelly and her Chihuahuas. I wasn't even dressed that slutty; inside, the buildings were heated, and I could wear whatever I wanted without being worried about the cold.

"This is ridiculous!" I sighed and crossed my legs, elbow on my knee, and chin on my palm.

"You're ridiculous. You were watching cartoons." Xavier took off his glasses, the diamonds on his acrylic nails glimmering.

"Don't critique my-."

The sudden screams and claps startled me. Julian just entered the room with his friends. We made eye contact for a split second before he sat five rows lower between a sea of girls. This imagery made me clench my jaw when he leaned forward and whispered something to a brunette. She turned and smiled back at him. What was that talking about? Why did he have to whisper it to her? Who was she?

A third welcome hollowing was made for Chasity, the host for today. Chasity was that forty-year-old party organizer who thought they were still teenagers. She learned how to talk "cool" on WikiHow with her never taking off the beige cardigan and black tree breezes. But somehow, we tolerated her.

"What's up? what's up, you guys!" She swaggered to the stage, throwing the peace sign. "You know what time it is already! It's the time of the year, and we are going to turn up!!"

She was white, by the way, and already got canceled for saying the n-word on stage.

"If you're ready for this season, let me hear you say ayo!!"

"AYOOOOOO!" The auditorium yelled. I sighed and rubbed my forehead. That was the most miserable and cringing moment in my life, and I wasn't even in my period to be grumpy like that. Probably because I witnessed those girls giggling around Julian, the blond sitting behind him lightly touched his shoulder. He turned around and smiled at her. My fists clenched as I felt my stomach tied into a knot. Why was I feeling this way? I wasn't even his girlfriend. I had no right to endure any type of way if he decided to talk to girls. I looked away, with a shallow pain in my heart, hoping ignoring my feelings would make me feel better.

"Are you okay?" Agea whispered to me.

I nodded and relaxed my fist, avoiding looking at him. The show began; we watched a girl sing, two groups danced, and another comedy skit that was funny to some. I peeked at Julian occasionally, and he still talked to those girls. One even changed sit to get closer to him. My blood was boiling, and I had to play it cool; Resentment was running through my veins.

That awful and painful show finally ended. I rushed to get downstairs and leave without waiting for my friends. I wanted no one to ask me why tears formed in my eyes because I didn't know. I had this bitter scraping feeling in my stomach, and a wave of anger was submerging me. I walked away from the students, taking an empty hallway leading to the library. I had to breathe; I couldn't go outside. I would freeze; my coat was in Mr. Chung's classroom across the building. The thought of retracing my steps made my heart blocked for a second.
