This was the moment one of the workers had to walk in to ask Paul down to lunch , but of course my luck doesn't get along with me.

There on the door stood Caesy.

Shit.

I'd forgotten to inform her about this entire plan and that little fresh-air walk couldn't go on for 4 hours.

Of course she was scared and worried.

As soon as Paul opened the door she barged right inside.

Wow lots of guts to show in front of a vampire.

"What the hell Laura , where have you been? I was so dead scared. You told me you'd just take a stroll outside. So what the hell are you doing here!?" She
half-screamed at me .

I was at a loss of words . I needed time to come up with an explanation. Damnit why wasn't I a good liar.

"Wait , has he captured you here or something? OMG did you force Laura to come here! You might be a vampire with all those super powers but you try to hurt Laura and I'll show you what a 17 year old girl is capable of." Caesy said to Paul, with her iconic death stare.

Things were taking a wrong turn , I had to do something.

"No Caesy , I'm here by myself and no one's forcing me. I'm alright , I just need to clear a few things up . There's nothing you need to worry about. Just give me a little more time and I'll be back." I said , trying to reassure Caesy.

"I'm not going to leave you here alone with him of that's what you're trying to say." Caesy said to me.

"Trust me , it's alright. I'm alright and no one's harming me. Things are not as you think of them to be and I'll explain everything to you just give me a little time." I said to Caesy.

I knew Caesy was worried about me but if she didn't leave soon enough then the entire plan would fall to pieces.

"Fine" Caesy said , with a look of suspicion still on her face.

As she was leaving she looked at Paul with some kind of threatening stare .

And Paul raised his hands , as if surrendering to her.

"Your friend really is something" said Paul with a glint of humour in his voice.

"I know , she would do anything for me. " I replied.

And the bell rang again.

But this time marking the arrival of the right person.

"Sir your lunch is ready , shall I bring it in?" asked one of the female staff members.

" Umm , I'll ask for it a little later. Take it back for now." said Paul , a little hesitantly to her.

"It's alright, you can take your meal . I have no problem." I said with an encouraging smile.

"But - " Paul was just trying to make a point when I suddenly cut him off.

"Lets not weird things out." I said

"Alright then , please bring it in" He said to the lady.

She brought in the tray.

Wtf

It was a bowl filled with blood.

Why hadn't I thought it before , of course this is what they survived on. They weren't going to have pasta for lunch.

I see why Paul was hesitating now.

This was definitely weird and very disgusting.

I suddenly realized that Paul was looking my way , as if registering my reaction so I gave him a resurring smile , as if I was okay with this whole thing which I was obviously not.

Okay so I didn't have time for this. I needed to get things done.

I felt my pocket for the little bottle.

Vervain.

According to our plan , I was to slip this bottle of vervain into Paul's 'lunch'. The vervain was so strong that even a little of it would cause hours long of unconsciousness and that was when I needed to start to search for what I needed.

Okay so things were going the right way until now except for the blood situation,  which I would disgust about later .

" umm could I get a glass of water please?" I asked Paul.

"Sure , just a sec" He replied and started to search for a bottle.

This was the time.

I tried to unfasten the cork, but it was too tight. God please please please not right now. I tried harder harder until it flew open and landed beside the leg of the table.

I'd pick it up later , I dropped two drops of vervain into the bowl as I had been instructed to do and quickly hid the bottle behind my back.

Plan executed.

I looked back to see Paul standing right in front of me.

Shit.
