"Soooo I take it your date didn't go so well...?" I say to Emily. I didn't know if I was asking her a question or making a statement. "If it was even a date." Emily responds rubbing her head. "Is everything OK? You look tired." I say. "Well, I have had a headache since this morning. And I couldn't taste the pizza Jordan, Stefan, and I had yesterday. No complaints though." She laughs. "Omg, those are all COVID symptoms Em! You should get tested!" "Yes, I should. We all should. If I have it then you all most likely will too." Emily responds. I thought she would've taken the hint to keep her distance and go home. Not in a rude way of course. I just want to stay healthy so I can see my billboard in Times Square. It is coming down next week and I want to see it while I can. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Emily's POV
A few hours ago my dad and I took our COVID test. I really hope we're not positive! I'm going to feel so bad if I infect the squad. And especially Piper! She has a huge week coming up! Would she kick me out of the squad if I got her sick? I really hope not! I love being in the squad! I was watching TikTok on my phone when the home phone rang. I throw my phone aside to my bed and run downstairs with the strength I have left. The phone read, 'COVID Test Results'. "Dad the results are here!" I shout up the stairs as I grab the phone. "Hello?" I say. "Yes, this is Emily and Doug Dobson." Oh my gosh really?" I ask. I hang up the phone. Me and my dad stare at each other with sad looks.
