You were eating your cereal peacefully, eyes sleepily look down at your spoon before chomping on it and pull it out empty. To be honest, you haven't gotten enough sleep this past week because the baby kept on having huge meetings in the middle of the night. And you are the kind of person who's easy to wake up for. Your body aches at the weird sleeping position you took yesterday. God, you feel like an old man.

Your dad is reading his newspaper as usual while having his morning coffee. His round glasses got fogged up whenever he slurps on his coffee that is still hot. You glance at your mother, seeing she tiredly trying to feed the stubborn and annoying red-haired baby but she wails in protest. You can see why. The food looked super slimy, and it's green. If you're her, you would wail to protest. Nevertheless, your mother manages to feed her till the food is empty. Your bowl is empty as well.

The phone rings loudly and your dad picks up the phone after putting down his newspaper. You hear your dad talks to Tim's father cheerfully, making you smile at their cute friendship. You pick up your empty bowl and cup before make your way to the kitchen. Putting down the dishes, you grab the sponge nearby and begin to clean them up. You hear your father yells in excitement, startling you in the process. You look at him, giving him a confused look.

Your father nods and hangs up. He looks at you and your mother. "Get ready girls! We're going to Templeton's house!" he exclaims loudly, posing as he declares.

You wipe your hands once you finished washing and putting away the clean dishes. You look at your father again. "What for?" you ask curiously.

Your mother embraces the baby in her arms and begins to rock her arms so that she'll fall asleep. Surprisingly, she's not that disobedient and easily falls asleep. She's like a tired woman who loves her bed more than anything. Your father smiles at your question and rubs your hair, messing with it. You giggle at his action.

"We're having a reunion with our high schoolmates. Maybe I can introduce some of them," he suggests.

You shake your head immediately. Your mother brightens up at her husband's words. "Really? A reunion?" she asks excitedly. Your father laughs at your mother childish behaviour and nods. "Oh, yes! I've been wanting to see Renette ever since forever!" she yells in excitement. "Here, take the baby!" she quickly hands you the sleeping baby. You instantly grab her, rocking her in your arms so that she'll continue to fall asleep. Your mother poses. "I gotta fashion up! Give me 15- wait, no, 25 minutes!" she chimes.

Your father laughs loudly at your mother's rushing behaviour. "Darling! We have to go out in 10 minutes! We need to catch up as soon as possible!" your father chases down your mother.

"Then we gotta hurry!" your mother yells back.

Then, it goes silent.

You continue to rock her in arms, trying to process whatever your father had just declared. Your childish parents rushing around to find whatever fancy to wear, wanting to impress their high school friends. Sometimes you swear that you're much more mature than your parents.

Shaking your head at their behaviour, you slowly climb up the stairs and walk towards your bedroom. You put down the baby on your bed gently, covering her body using your blanket. You go to your wardrobe, searching for formal looking clothes that are suited for an adult reunion. Dress to impress, right?

꧁TIME SKIP꧂

Your father rings the doorbell. The smile on his fade hasn't faded since 14 minutes ago and you're happy to have your parents look this happy. The door soon swings open, revealing a happy and overexcited Janice greeting your parents. She welcomes the four of you with wide open arms and an ear-to-ear smile. As soon as your parents enter the house, they shout happily and engulf some unknown figures tightly.
