//Eric's third POV//

'What am I doing?' Eric thought to himself— He bit into the cheeseburger like he hadn't eaten in days though only being gone from his town for about four hours. He was on the outside of his town, Sitting at a rundown burger king with only three other customers. Only one lady being seen behind the register— She played on her phone looking around 16 to 17 years old.

Of course, Eric wasn't interested in the fast-food worker or the other people around him. With his phone turned off and him too scared to look he looked around nervously like the whole world was looking at him Like everyone knew he was gay and was secretly talking about him behind his back. He believed everyone knew now— and it scared him.

Once realizing he was gay he told himself half-hearted statements and answers to the questions in his mind of how he thought everyone would react— Maybe some would look at him differently like Jay but he knew someone would be there for him... But even telling himself that It didn't motivate nor make him feel more conformable. In truth, He didn't want to come out. He didn't feel a need to come out. He could never picture himself bringing a guy home or dating comfortably because he was scared, Being scared— you learn to half-ass loving yourself by saying something on repeat over and over again until it drives you scary to the point of slowly believing (it).

But when those words stop brainwashing you by an outside force, what then?

"Sir, we will be closing soon."

Eric quickly looked up at the girl— He blushed in embarrassment nodding as he stood, He grabbed the wrappers of burgers and went to the trash can. He looked down at them, Some of the cheese still on the wrapper. 'When have I ever ate this much junk food?' He questioned, 'coach has been so strict I haven't eaten like this scene middle school..' He threw the wrappers away and headed to his parked car.

Once he sat down he looked at his phone for a few seconds— He thought of the messages that could be on the phone at this point. Jay would probably respond by questioning eric then going into homophobic slurs after he hadn't answered. Thinking of all the backlash he could be faced with if he turned on his phone before remembering how his mother is probably worried at home. He quickly powered on his phone and like he thought his messages went off like crazy but there was no homophobia or things of him being gay. Just questioning where he was for the most part.

Even Callum texted him— After replying to his mother and other family members he replied to callum.

// Text //

Callum: Hey... Are you okay? You kinda just stormed off at school earlier and Emily was worried. Just text me later.

Callum: Some girl name Maddie claiming to be your sister called my phone asking if I knew where you were. Are you okay? Text me Eric everyone is worried about you.

Eric: Hey sorry. Something happened... I've already taken care of everything with my sister . Thank you.

// end text //

A few seconds later Eric's phone went off— Callum's name on the screen. Eric sighed before answering it, He didn't want to say anything bad like earlier, "Hey, Are you okay? Where are you?" Callum said right at the start of the call in a worried, yet tired voice into the phone.
