It was the beginning of 3rd period & i was in the library. I began to feel sleepy, it was a free period so i just put my airpods in and laid my head down
I began to fall asleep until i heard a chair pull out from under the table making me move my braids out the way and look over seeing a boy
"oh my bad..did i wake you up?" he proceeded to say
"no you're fine" i responded with a little smile then checking my apple watch to see what time it was
"so can i sit here?" he asked while raising a eyebrow
"yeah sure go ahead" i replied looking him in the eyes
his eyes were so beautiful, they were slender, not too light but not too dark
he was about 5'9 & im 5'3 so it's not that bad, he's tall for me
"so what grade you in?" he asked me trying not to make the silence loud again
"i'm a sophomore and you?" i asked just be generous not that i cared
"oh cool i'm a junior" he said cracking a smile showing his pretty teeth
"ouuu you bout to graduate this dumbass school" i said making him feel himself
"i mean yeah imma miss this school, the years fly by fast as hell i wish i spent more time here" he responded
"why? this lame ass school. all people do here is fight & end up being pregnant" i said leaning back on my chair
"well first i wish i spent some more time here cause i'm just now meeting you" he said leaning up to the table and laying his arms on the table
"boy bye you gonna be here for one more year we got enough time" i said adding a laugh mid sentence
" what if wanted to spend more time with you?" he asked me
"i'm free after school" i said in a duh tone
"i have football practice" he responded
"damn...welp.." i said picking up my bag
"the bell is about to ring so thanks for the small talk" i said smiling and getting out my chair
"why you in a rush?" he asked me getting up out of his seat
"cause my next class is across campus" i said as i pushed my chair under the table
"can i walk you?" he smiled looking down at me
i was flustered and i got butterflies and i was trying not to smile back at him. we just met and im ready to take this to the bathroom, i need to relax.
"yeah sure if you want" i said smirking and walking past him as he walked behind me
"don't be looking at my ass either" i said putting my red MCM tote bag on my shoulder
"you lucky you said that cause i was about to" he said laughing
the bell rang and the hallways started to fill up. we were halfway across campus at this point.
"wait i didnt get your name" he said looking at me while walking but i didn't look back at him
"my name is naomi" i said moving my hand to cover my eyes cause the sun was shining over us
"and yours?" i asked stopping in my tracks as he stopped too
"marcus"
