This is after the battle of starcourt and billy's death but Hopper didn't die and the byers didn't move away.
El now goes to school with the party and is still best friends with max, and 'nothing' more
El and mike are still dating but Lucas and max broke up as Lucas cheated on max after Billy's death. They all go to Hawkins high but Steve and Robin work at the video store and Nancy and Jonathan go to college but come back on weekends.
