ask matthew murdock that question, and he probably won't know how to answer. the term is nonexistent, even in the canon of the marvel universe. this is because it's a term of matt's own invention to try to explain the unexplainable. i'm gonna try to explain it though besties dw

at the age of nine, radioactive isotopes involved in a traffic accident took his sight, but it heightened his other senses and gave him an extra one. almost.

the radar is at the same time a combination of all senses, as well as a sense of its own. long story short, it helps matt to process shape, proximity, and weight of objects around him
