Minho’s pov

Tired and worn out, I walked into my apartment with sluggish movements, throwing my bag on the floor near the front door, not really caring about where it landed. My steps echoed around the spacious kitchen as I stepped inside, squinting to see better in the pitch black darkness. I knew something was off right away. One of the windows was wide open, while I specifically remembered closing it before leaving to work.

My breath got lost somewhere in my throat, hearing a light noise – something like a foot brushing against the floor – coming out of the living room. I reached for my belt, taking out a handgun. All the tiredness which rested on my eyelids before has disappeared, instead, I felt the exact opposite, trying to listen for any other sounds.

“Who’s there?” I asked stupidly, staring into the seemingly empty dark room, scanning it with the tip of my gun. After the question lingered in the air for a few seconds, a lamp next to the sofa turned on, revealing a young man sitting on it.

His brown hair was slicked backwards, away from his forehead and there was a smirk overtaking his lips as he looked up, our eyes locking.

“Who...Who are you?” I pointed the gun on him nervously, but he didn’t look bothered. He crossed his legs and started to look around my living room, as if examining the choice of decoration.

When I thought he would never start speaking, he started: “I am an agent. Han Jisung, leader of ATT.”

“Nice to meet you!” I said enthusiastically, before mentally slapping myself. “Uh, I mean...Why did you break in?"

“Oh, yeah...I apologize,” Jisung laughed. “Your apartment is very pretty by the way.”

“Thanks, wait, uhm,” I spoke, stuttering. The sight of the agent was making me strangely nervous as I kept failing to keep my composure. “Why are you here?”

Jisung stood up. He ran a hand through his hair, messing it up at it as he started to approach me, slowly as if he was scared I would run away. My grip around the gun tightened and I felt my palms getting sweaty.

“You don’t have to be scared. I have no intention to hurt you.”

“I am not scared. Answer my question.”

He smirked again, stopping right in front of me. He reached out his hand, gripping the barrel of the gun. There were no signs of fear evident on his face even though the gun was pointing right at his chest. He slowly re-directed the aim on the floor while maintaining eye contact.

“I heard you’re the best agent in your agency,” he finally said after an uncomfortable silence took over the room.

I let out a sigh of disbelief, placing my gun back into my belt. “Best agent...Who told you that? A trashcan? Stop trying to compliment me and be straightforward. Why the hell did you break into my apartment?”

Annoyance flashed though Jisung’s face, but he quickly replaced it with natural expression. “I came to ask you for a favour,” he spoke while taking out a folded paper and going back to sit on the sofa again. I did the same, my eyes not leaving the stranger at any time.

“What favour?”

Jisung unfolded the paper. It turned out to be a photo of a boy. He had kind eyes and smile that looked like they wouldn’t hurt a fly even if he was asked to. He was very young and handsome, blond hair reached his shoulders.

“We need to find him and capture him.”

I frowned. “Who is it?”

Someone. He is attacking my father’s agency and is trying to bring him down. He locates agents that have worked for my father and...kills them.”

“Why? What did your father do to him?”

Jisung let out a huge breath. “That is a personal matter between my father and him...so, are you in? It’s a simple job."

“You must understand, agent Han, that this is a little fast for me. I can’t just decide right away,” I hesitated, biting my lower lip in confliction. Jisung smiled and put one of his hands on my thigh, making me flinch.

“Judging by the information I’ve gotten about you, you’re having a hard time at your agency at the moment. This is a big job with only the best ones on the team. Are you looking for a boost of career? This is it. Please?”

I went quiet for a few moments, before nodding. “Okay...I am in, but don’t ever break into my place ever again. With all the information you supposedly have about me, you could have just find my phone number.”

Jisung clapped, jumping to his feet again. “Thank you! You’ll get paid good money, don’t worry. I will come pick you up tomorrow at 3. The ride to our base will be very long. Pack some stuff, you will be staying with us for a while.”

“Wait, what about my current job?” I asked, running to grab his hand to stop him from leaving yet, making him turned around.

“Don’t worry, that is taken care of. Go to sleep now, you look exhausted.”

I opened my mouth in silent question, but he just smiled and with that, he left.
